There were already too many Oasis songs with Noel on vocals. We didn’t need another one.

Was all set for an internal moan at Noel changing a few of the lyrics, then went back and listened to the soundcheck and lo and behold he's singing the same words.

I have ZERO issues with this being released under the Oasis banner. If we trust Noel that this was an Oasis demo from 2004-2005ish then why wouldn't he put it out under the name of the band when it was created? No brainer to me. Its certainly not a HFB demo, although you could imagine this being on his debut. We should just be happy we got this. We could have gotten.........................nothing.
It would be grand if Noel was secretly going through all the tapes and CDs to assemble an Oasis anthology or rarities album with "Don't Stop..." being the first tease/preview. Now that is giving Noel way too much credit. This will happen eventually, probably just not in 2020.
Enjoy the tracks dudes and dollies. We might not get another Oasis "tune" for a long long time.
Peace. Love. Dope!

I'm sure that there are lots of rarities better than this song, dlbia/step out with liam vocals for example and many others that will probably never see the light of the day.

I'm sure that there are lots of rarities better than this song, dlbia/step out with liam vocals for example and many others that will probably never see the light of the day. First off, I was never head over heels smitten with this song. None of his soundcheck songs fire me up like that. It wasn't an accident this was the song he decided to drop us. Noel and his team know about the soundcheck songs that made their way to YouTube the last 12-15 years. They know we sit on this forum and debate, love, fight over all of it. He even references it in the press release. And he was right. Half of this forum it seems is bitching about something regarding "Don't Stop...". Its just a song. Nothing more, nothing less. Lastly, I do firmly believe an anthology will come one day down the line. Too much money in it or streams. Whatever they use to justify such projects in 2020. I'd rather an unknown/unreleased song be given to us than say a Liam version of a song we have known for 25+ years. This is just one man's opinion.

I love the little guitar lick around the 3 min mark. Reminds me of some "Let It Be" sessions.

It's a good little classic Noel acoustic number. Nothing extraordinary but it's good. Some of the lyrics are kind of meh.
Has anyone noticed how similar the chorus is to Won't Let You Down?

Can see why it remained a demo. Not for me. Point of order! This thread should arguably be in the Oasis section of the forum

I love the lyrics. Just opinion but I love it when Noel manages to say nothing and everything all in one. Not many songwriters have that gift. The "don't stop" bit seems pretty poignant, given everything that is happening now.

This thread should arguably be in the Oasis section of the forum My thread was in the Oasis section, and it was merged with a thread in the NGHFB section. I'd be overjoyed if it turned out Lennon2217 is right and this is the first release from a rarities collection. Very much doubt it will happen that way as this is NG we're talking about... but maybe the lockdown boredom will be enough for him to put something together?

Honestly. I'm hearing a lot arguments against but not many alternatives. What name is he supposed to release it under? I'm genuinely curious. Dunno. Maybe put it up with a "Gallagher" account. Maybe release it as Oasis but put the year as 2000-and-whatever. There's just something about it being labelled a new Oasis single that irks me, particularly if Liam wasn't asked about it. I'm sure the world will keep turning, though, I'm gonna have a tuna toastie. But it's not being labelled a single. On Spotify it has "demo" in the title. How much more specific does it have to be? Lol

We were talking of doing an “Oasis Anthology” episode inspired by Don’t Stop. Before I start one is there a thread on here that lists all unreleased songs, alternates etc?
Thanks
