I really dislike how Noel changes stories to make Liam look bad. If ypu watch the show where the barrier breaks, Noel does notice the surge first. But they start to Play, and it is Liam who halts the song. They both also brilliantly engage the crowd while They figure out next steps. Yeah that was just a blatant lie from Noel. It’s Liam who stops the song! It's so false that I wonder if he is confusing that with the generator failure during the Heaton Park gig a few years later (2009). Liam doesn't seem to know what is going on when the sound goes out and Noel just walks right off stage.

It’s Liam who stops the song! They both looked and sounded extremely concerned. It was only 5 years after the Pearl Jam incident that haunts them to this very day. Imagine 9 of your fans dying to hear your music and suffocating to death in a mosh pit like. It’s so tragic and it happens so fast.

Liam spots the problem before Noel but needs Noel to step in because he doesn't know what to say to get people to stop. Then once it kicks off Liam tells the band to stop but they don't actually do so until Noel walks across and tells them to.

I enjoyed Noel's analysis of the silly twists in the Star Wars franchise movies.

What did Noel say about that City of Manc gig?
I thought he'd just said they both (him and Liam) had to chat to the crowd for half-hour or whatever?
I haven't listened in a while so if someone has the quote then happy to be proved wrong.

During a gig it can be confusing. its hard to see or know exactly what is happening in a crowd. Glad nobody was hurt. that is the key to me.

In the full broadcast it is about 11 minutes in: www.radiox.co.uk/radio/podcasts/funny-how-with-matt-morgan/I don't think anyone said above that Noel "took shots at Liam," just that he misrepresented what happened in a way that made Liam look bad or less than helpful, which wasn't true. What Noel said was: “I had to stop the gig and [laugh] explain to Liam why I’m stopping the gig because he hasn’t got a fucking clue what is going on…I had to walk up mid song and stop the band and Liam’s thinking I’m stopping the band… we ended up getting in a fucking fight on the stage…just like fucking hell, man.” It doesn't match what actually happened. Simple as that. Obviously, memory is unreliable and things were chaotic and he's just spouting off in a podcast, not writing a history book. But it's a view that Noel tends to hold as well, regardless of evidence.

In relation to the new podcast and the Etihad bit I didn't really see it as taking a pop at Liam but the video evidence is that Liam did understand what was going on.
The security guard does go up and speak to Noel, like, but Liam definitely knew why.
Didn't they entertain the fans for a bit while it got fixed? On the vid it's obviously just like a 5-min clip but didn't it take like 30 mins?

Yeah, I wasn't there (I went to the Thursday night gig, this was the 2nd night on the Saturday) but knew a few people who did. They either stayed on stage for the full 30 minutes or went off for a quick break then came back on and stayed on most of the time. Someone posted CCTV from the stadium on here a while ago, it showed the full 30 minutes of them actually fixing it. Obviously didn't watch it all but was interesting.

oasispodcast Some nice words from Noel about Steve White on the Tour Of Brotherly Love about 50 mins in. What did he say? Can't find it. It was about 54 mins in actually I think - they were talking about the Black Crowes. Then Noel mentioned how Steve filled in for Alan for the whole tour and was "f****** great" and how he led the band during that tour even though he'd only had a week of rehearsals. Then, weirdly, went on to praise all of the drummers he has worked with as being "great".

Another one posted. He answers a few more questions in the first twenty minutes and then Matt has him going through these moral questions from Buzzfeed for the rest of it, hmm.

I hope they'll never do those Buzzfeed dilemmas again! At least the fan / Instagram questions are sometimes funny or he answers them in a funny way but these were pretty painful.

They mainly staged onstage and made the odd comment but pretty much just sat around. I think Liam messed with a few instruments and there was talk of Live 8 (as this was on the same day). Mega gig though. Got absolutely crushed to fuck. Couldn't handle it and moved to safety before Cigs & Alcohol. We lost one of mates early on and found him outside the ground after the gig with 1 trainer on, no shirt and ripped jeans. He stayed at the front until My Generation but said he had to leave then as he thought he was gonna die! He got a cracking picture of Liam though. I'll post it if I can find it.

I think we should 'spam'Matt's instagram with 2 questions.
1) Who is 'Dem Scissors'? 2) Thoughts on this forum
I think Noel would have some brilliant comments about us virgins on the internet talking about a band who split up over a decade ago.

I’ll have you know I enjoy a varied and fulfilled sex life with my wife yet still obsess over a band who split up over a decade ago! 😂😂😂
