Think he's a bit pissed.
But funny.

Dunno about you but if I was Matt Morgan, i.e. Noel was a good friend of mine, I'd be pretty pissed off if Noel didn't know, or pretended not to know (as part of his act / persona of being this somehow aloof, elusive character...) where my wife's ancestors were from or how many siblings I have. I wonder why he does that, is it supposed to be funny or what?

Havent heard it, but did hear he said something about being against the quarantine? Is that true? No, he said he's staying inside. He said he doesn't hoard toilet paper.

Didnt he say something about worrying about the economy more than the virus. The quarantine having a bigger damage the virus itself or something?

The quarantine having a bigger damage the virus itself or something? Yes, but that's exactly right. He wasn't saying it as in we should all come out of lockdown or whatever. But just that what scares him more than the virus is the potential economic implications of all these measures that have had to be introduced further down the road. Which is 100% spot on btw. More deaths will be caused by a global recession than this virus. That's the sad truth.

Listened to it last night. Funny indeed. He said he's drunk every night since the lockdown started. ANd he's got a bunch of tunes he wants to make demo's off, but he can't get to the studio due to lockdown.

In between that and decorating those doors, I think he's finally cracked. The guitar bit was funny. Genuinely don't even think that's Noel playing stupid with the chords either. He just doesn't know them.

Neither, actually but since you asked ever so politely, I'll explain my reply: I generally have an issue with people going 'I HEARD'. Where / how did you hear it? Did your neighbour shout it over the garden fence, informing you what, in this case, Noel had said? OR... did you maybe, just maybe READ an out-of-context / half-true line on Twitter et al which you then posted verbatim on here? Alas, my issue isn't really with you, or Noel or this particular podcast, but just generally about the way that rumours / half-truths etc are being spread by people who (re-)post stuff they've read somewhere, without actually listening to / reading / seeing the actual source first. I hope you'll understand my point.

Weird how Lifelong Labour Voter Noel's views always happen to be the same as those on the right of the Tory party these days.

So you should actually commend me for "fact checking" a rumour I'd heard.

Weird how Lifelong Labour Voter Noel's views always happen to be the same as those on the right of the Tory party these days. What view is that? That the country - well, world - is going to be in for a very tough few years after this? I don't think that's particularly Tory to think that. Just realistic, tbh. For the majority of people, myself included, the impact of losing their jobs and livelihoods is more worrying than getting this virus - because 70-80% of people who get this virus don't even show symptoms. Not to say we shouldn't be doing all we can right now with lockdown measures etc, but unless you're one of the lucky people who will be able to keep their job, then I don't think it's right-wing to think that the consequences of indefinite lockdown are more worrying.

Must be nice being able to think the economy and health are totally separate things.
Anyway, the podcast was funny. I don't go to Noel Gallagher for any political opinions. It was just a funny show and a bit of a distraction.

It was just a funny show and a bit of a distraction. Where's the sweet spot for avoidable deaths vs economic damage? There isn't really one - at least not due to the slow reactions of governments around the world, including the UK. There is lots of deaths now and there are subsequently going to be tons of deaths because of cuts which will have to be introduced due to a global economic crash likely to be far worse than 2008. In the UK, we're going to have to have 10 years of austerity, at least, regardless of who is in power. It's going to be the same in most countries isn't it. That's why governments like Denmark, Austria and even Germany are already easing lockdown measures as gradually as they can (and I'm sure they'll stop if there's another spike) - because they know the economic damage will be far worse for people's health in general. There's going to come a point in the UK where that has to happen too but we're not there yet. I don't think anyone with any sense is saying that. But there's nothing wrong with pointing out it's a worry moving forward.

In the UK, we're going to have to have 10 years of austerity, at least, regardless of who is in power. There it is. Mask-off neoliberal bullshit. We're all in it together, old boy. The reason countries like Denmark, Germany and Austria are coming out of lockdown now is that they haven't bungled this at every single step, causing thousands of deaths and the very economic damage you are so concerned about.
