Moving on from this, I found it genuinely interesting to hear Noel actually aknowledging James Hargreaves for the first time on the last episode...

I don't think Karl Pilkington was genuinely mocking disabled people and I don't think Noel was either.
The level of outrage in this thread is incredible. Enjoy the sunshine! It's later than you think!

Moving on from this, I found it genuinely interesting to hear Noel actually aknowledging James Hargreaves for the first time on the last episode... What did he say about him? Was it his Masterplan Conspiracy video? One of the questions was about whether Noel's music or Oasis had ever been on a videogame which went on to the subject of the Guitar Hero multitracks... Noel: Guitar hero yeah, yeah, yeah... There's a bit on Guitar Hero that people have put... We just gave them the master tapes and there's all this mad shit on... all the overdubs that never made it are all on fucking Guitar Hero and there's mad... there's mad fanboys on the Internet have pulled them all apart and gone 'Oh look at this guitar solo that never made it, this is amazing!' It's shit. It's shit. (...) Noel: In it's infancy we didn't know what it meant so we just said 'Yeah send the stems' so they sent every... Some fucker sent everything so there was like all the guide vocals, all the guide guitars, we sent them everything. And they've since ended up on the Internet and someone's like 'Whoa I didn't know this was buried in the mix'. You know, there's guys on the Internet who are just like Oasis nerds who will just pull apart everything and be like 'Oh, he said this and this means that and that means this and who is Sally?' and all that fucking shit. Matt: Well we know who Sally is cos you told me. Noel: Anyway, so... (laughs) Stop it now, Matthew. Matt: Why? Noel: Right, last one. Matt: Why can't I say who Sally is? The real Sally? Noel: Because it's been so long now there's no point. There's no point saying it now. It would ruin the girl's life. So she don't need it, I don't need it, you don't need it, the world... Matt: Do you mean it would ruin the male novelist's life? If I said too much... Noel: How do you know that? Well we can discuss this later on. We can discuss this later on. What do you know about that? Have I told you this? What do you know? Matt: I must know something about it. Noel: You must know something about it. I will see you after my massage. Just you be careful what you're saying about this kind of thing on air Matthew. Carry on. Again, it looks nastier in print than it sounds on the podcast but Noel does sound slightly uncomfortable when it gets to the Sally bit.

I just wish that Noel would think before he opens his gob but sadly he never does.

Apologized that I also laughed during the "rise" part because my understanding is Noel was joking the festival was so brilliant that can even cure your body physically like a miracle. Whether a comment like this is offensive or not should be decided by disabled people rather than others. If they feel uncomfortable, then Noel is definitely wrong. Especially considering the photo of the man with artificial leg I post before, he must be disappointed now. Btw as far as I remembered, there were more "hellish gags" if you listened carefully to the previous episodes. If those tabloid writers are patient enough to do some research, they can produce articles like this every other day. Comedy is completely subjective. Don't apologise for laughing or let other people tell you what to do.

BTW, I saw the stuff about the disabled platform on Facebook a day or so after Glasto and thought it was disgusting from Noel. He can get anywhere, there's no need to go on the disabled platform.
I didn't realise it was such a big deal but given he has an AAA pass he could literally stand anywhere he wanted, without being a dick and standing there.
I don't think he'll actually have 'barged in' and been pushing people out of the way etc. I can absolutely believe he was stood blocking someone's view though, and that's a vagina move.

The fact is Noel hasn't even had the decesencey to say sorry for his horrible and offensive remarks and that makes it even worse.

He posted yesterday (has since been edited) basically saying things with him and Noel are fine, just made sense to temporarily remove the podcasts while the “dark forces are lurking”, which will refer to the pathetic journalists from the Scum and The Daily Fail which listen in to every episode just waiting for something to post. Obviously with the current situation they are likely scrutinising the past podcasts to find more, so it was probably a good move in the long run, wait until the rags have moved onto some other nonsense.

I guarantee you the press isn't doing that. They are far too lazy and there is no need when the stories write themselves. Beyond that, do they truly believe the press doesn't know how to archive podcasts that they've already listened to? Of course they don't believe that. The internet is forever, as they say. Deleting years later is absolutely pointless, other than for show or for spite.
Matt can try to make it about persecution, but it's really not the case.

Agreed about the internet part, bit pointless in that it will be on there forever. But the press definitely is lurking, and one of the reasons we can be sure of that is because they’ve done it several times before, it’s even been regularly discussed on the podcast, pointing out stories that have been made based on stuff they’ve only discussed on the podcasts. A lot of these stories are excerpts from particular episodes, and most are very out of context or are missing the point entirely. This is just the first story to actually stick, and spread.

I wouldn't say they are lurking because it's no secret whatsoever. There has been a direct podcast-to-tabloids pipeline since the very beginning, well before it was a Patreon. They certainly know it – and Noel even uses it at times to make announcements or return fire. Can't have it both ways.
It’s no different from posting on twitter--- what you say publicly (and Patreon is public, just a pay service) is open to criticism. Liam got it when he tweeted a homophobic slur, for example. But Liam simply manned up and apologized. Plus the events at Glastonbury were the instigator here and would have happened with or without the podcast. This story is sticking for a reason. They could easily unstick it and there would be no need for pulling the podcasts or any other drama. They just choose not to.

So Sally is Melissa Lim? And the song is not about a woman of a certain age looking back at her life like Noel has said

Some in the YouTube comments section speculating that by "male novelist" Matt Morgan was referring to Tony MacCarroll. I don't think I've heard that explanation before although I guess it could be plausible.

having heard the actual clip where Matt mentions the 'male novelist' I think it's just them two messing about. But there could obviously be more of a story about who Saly is/was.

Imagine all the songs. Noel's muse. Pretty lass too. Well she inspired What's The Story Morning Glory (the title and phrase if not the actual song structure itself etc) as that's what she used to say to Noel on the phone - he said this in some interview I swear I heard not too long ago. But yeah.

This is from an interview she did once:
When Oasis returned to San Francisco to perform at the Fillmore in early 1995, Lim found Gallagher to be distant. But hoping to maintain their relationship, she told him, “It’s OK, I won’t look back in anger. I know we’re just friends.”

But hoping to maintain their relationship, she told him, “It’s OK, I won’t look back in anger. I know we’re just friends.” Remember reading this article at the time and cringing at how much i thought she'd just milked the association for everything it's worth. This certainly adds a little more chance to it all. But at the same time, if this was really something Noel wanted to not give her credit for as a huge inspiration at the time then would he even mention her at all for the Supersonic Doc, and risk all this that he so clearly doesn't want coming out from doing just that? A much more likely scenario is this Hargreaves fella seeing that interview you've quoted and matching it up with the things Noel credits her for with Talk Tonight - then linking her in anyway he can to any lyrics where Noel talks about love.

I thought it was pretty much established that there was no Sally? I read an old article from 1995 about the song, how it was written, what every line meant, they asked the band about it, and it was Liam who came up with this line and Noel took it coz it sounded good? So it doesn’t mean anything. The whole song is collection of lines not connected with each other
