Today the stores will open again, just like all forms of education and sport facilities. Culture and restaurants picked the shortest straw once again.
Walked through town the other day and noticed another two stores went out of business so for them this comes too late.

^coming down now up here too. Today this first time since Xmas Eve that the total number in hospital has come down. Hopefully the start of the end⦠Yeah, I read on the BBC news pages earlier that cases were going down in the UK. Hopefully we won't get anymore new strains for a while.

So............. Finally, I've been waiting for it. I have Covid.
I feel totally fine, no symptoms whatsoever.
My mam was going into hospital yesterday to have an x-ray and protocol is she had to take an lft first, that came back positive so she rang me and explained. I'd seen her for a few hours the weekend so I did an lft. That came back positive. So went for a PCR yesterday and that also came back positive this morning.
My mrs has also tested positive, this is the 2nd time for her having it. She's got flu symptoms but nothing major

So Boris Johnson now claims that nobody warned him that a drinks party in the Number 10 garden risked breaking the lockdown rules. Oh really, of course he knew, honestly he's just taking us for fools.

The latest one is David Davies.

Are you saying the parents are to blame for the kids catching Covid? That's a really stupid thing to say (if that's what you are saying)

Are you saying the parents are to blame for the kids catching Covid? That's a really stupid thing to say (if that's what you are saying) Well i am indeed, because those kids caught Covid during the holidays, during family reunions. And got sick the next week, and etc etc when everybody knows we had to be extra and very careful. I'm not talking about catching covid in school, or buses or whatever. That's different. While some people are being careful, some dont care and there's consequences for dozen of people after that. I couldn't work for a week because someone didn't care to wear a mask at christmas. That's what i'm saying. Kinda tired of being careful since march 2020 TBH, putting life on hold while some other live like Covid doesnt exist. Weirdly enough, it's the same kids that are always sick, ni coincidence...

My mrs had it just over 90 days ago, I stayed in 10 days isolation with her, shared a bed etc.. And didn't catch it. Now, myself, my mrs and our daughter went away the week before last and had almost no contact with anyone for a week, the contact we did have was well over 2 meters distance and we always had masks on. Yet somehow we all caught it. We can't for the life of us figure out where we possibly could of caught it from. So yeh I don't think I'm a bad parent because my daughter caught it. But I can see your point

But I can see your point Obviously yeah anyone can still catch it or give it to a kid under any circumstances. That's why we have to be extra careful since new variants are targeting younger people. We just know the people who introduced covid into day care are the kind of people who dont care about anyone or anything, and that is pissing me off. They just party and dont care. I dont know how i would react if something bad happened to my son or someone close to me because of those people. Maybe your daugther caught it at school from another kid and it was undeclared or something ? Then You got infected. It can take 15 days to start. Or in the train ? We used FFP2 / N95 masks for trains and didnt take it off once, since the CO2 level is very high in trains and the risk is 30% higher. In restaurants it's 80% higher. It can be anywhere, sadly Always knew this was our weakest link, school. People were way more careful even only a few months ago. feels like now it's everyone for themselves. Just imagine if we had a war, it would be chaos. Anyway, Cheers !

So Boris Johnson had a birthday party while everyone else was in lockdown. Honestly how many more parties did he have during lockdown?

But I can see your point Glad to hear you and your family are well (or getting well.) Omicron particles can persist in the air depending on the ventilation so you don't even need to ever see the person who gave it to you -- they could have been where you were 20 minutes before. Two meters is also not a magic number -- it entirely depends on air circulation. Studies have been done on restaurant transmission (of Delta) and people catch it sitting 50 feet away from the infected person because the airflow happens to be blowing that way. So yes, for sure, you can be pretty careful and still get Omicron just because you left the house. In some cities over the last few weeks, you were more likely to catch it than not if you went anywhere even moderately crowded.
