For all the Scottish managers to do well, so Ill be rooting for Man U, Everton, Newcastle at various stages of the season.
Question - who was the last English manager to win the English title?

Im hoping for a number of clubs to be challenging for the title.
Instead of a 2 or 3 horse race.
Hopefully Liverpool can join the top 3.
Can see Tottenham having a good year this year.

As a Birmingham City supporter i'll be hoping for a top 8 finish and a good cup run, which isn't out of our reach with the squad Steve Bruce has put together.
And of course i'll be hoping Aston V***a get relegated. ;D

Newcastle got some scoring practice in day before the season starts last night with a 7 - 1 thumping of Bray Wanderers. The Premier League started strongly with Harper in net, Boumsong and Craig Moore in defence along side Steve Carr and Stephen Taylor, Dyer - Jenas - Bowyer - Faye in midfield and Shola Amobie and Millner up front Noticable absenties were Given, Shearer, Emre, and Scott Parker the hosts put up a great first half display with Chris O'Connor pulling off a great penaly from Amobie to keep the scores ant nil all. but Amoebie soon a=had his revenge and he fired into an open net and the scoring with the last kick of the half. A few changes for Bray at half time including a keeper change and Newcastle ran riot in the second half. Dyer made it three and minutes later Millner scored a cracking curling shot. Romanian Georgescu got a well taken goal for Bray but substitute N'Zogbia scored twice more, one of them the goal of the match starting with steve carr taking the ball and passing, continuing his run down the wing getting the balled threaded through by Bowyer and unshelfishly squaring the ball. Chopra added salt to the wounds with the 7th gaol 15 minutes before the end. to be fair to bray tho they had a lot of the U-21 squad out for most the second half. but newcastle showed their higher standereds throughout the match. The fitness and speed of the players stood out a mile. James Millner had a very good game just playing off the lead striker Charles N'Zogbia scores

2-0 SOLID START
van Nistelrooy and Rooney both open up their Premiership account with a goal a piece v Everton at Goodison.
Didn't get to see the match myself but this is a very good start.
Sunderland v Charlton is on TV now, and 6 others matches are also kicking off now.

Charlton take the lead against Sunderland and I knew before I saw it, the commentry is about 3 or 4 seconds ahead of the action which is quite annoying. oh well thats Irish TV for ya, and it also seem to have feed from another commentater. Darren Bent scored
otherwise its 2-2 at villa park, philliphs gave villa the lead and goals from boltons Campo and Davies then an equaliser from Davis, 20 minutes gone
