I didn't post all those songs. I mentioned those two and zingbot added. You seemed skeptical that there were references in the video My apologies but I think we've managed to confuse each other here! I was only skeptical about the thread title that claimed that "One Direction Solo dude covers every Oasis song". A few participants in the thread started a list of the songs covered but it was nowhere near every Oasis song so I simply said "keep going" as obviously alot more would be needed. Then you asked why I was skeptical about the two songs referenced in the video. I wasn't skeptical about them at all. This whole misunderstanding is bloody One Direction's fault. I apologise wholeheartedly for the confusion my hyperbole has contributed to. X

One Direction is absolute unadulterated dog shit. The worst band in the history of the universe. Their very existence is an insult to the work of the all time greats like Oasis.

I like that it doesn't just reference Wonderwall/Noel & Liam's mannerisms + clothes and even goes as far as to use some little detail from a music video that we in the fanbase don't even make that much of a deal about any other day.
Not something I'd listen to again either, but then we weren't the main target audience to begin with.

I honestly think it sounds like a song Liam's writers would come up with (and this isn't a dig at Liam).
It's definitely in that realm. More towards the poppy side than Liam's stuff, obviously, but to my ear – if it had Liam's vocals on, even with the same structure/lyrics, it'd have not been out of place at all on his latest album.
I don't really like it (though I don't hate it), but then again I don't really care for half of the songs off WMWY, really. Though I'll say that the ones I do like, I really like.

Just had a listen. The song's ok but is an obvious rehash of the Oasis style. But other than "But these high walls, they came up short" which sounds like the "Cause we need each other" from Acquiesce, I hear nothing from Cast No Shadow or Stop Crying Your Heart Out...

It's just playing B minor in a basic pattern that has a slight pause in between to add some variation to the melody.

Should I listen to it? Probably not. Not giving this moron my view. Give him a break. It’s mediocre at best but inoffensive. The lad has had so much tragedy in his life recently, it’s a miracle he’s even managing homeostasis, let alone be able to make music. Nothing to be so angry about. Calm your jizz. Some advice for Zingbot from the mighty bonehead, in the tone of a Sergeant Major advising a Private: “Listen mate, in this band you’re either shagging or having a wank. Got to be done, innit?” Everyone solemnly nods their heads. X

And, as far as I can hear (not bothered enough to go check honestly) it's not even the same note. SCYHO starts with Bm and Walls starts with an Em. So... nothing to see here.

I don't hear at all the similarity with Oasis at all. It's rather in the vein of the prepared mainstream ballads à la Robbie Williams.

Given that it's quite similar and it's been made clear that he uses elements of many Oasis songs, it's probably inspired by stop crying your heart out. A lot of subtle Oasis references, you just have to look for them.

Completley agree that there's no copyright infringement going on there. The cynic in me thinks that they stuck NG's name on the songwriting credit just to get the UK music press to write articles about it and then people on the Internet (us) would think what's this all about and av a listen and argue about weather it's a rip or not.

Marketing genius. TLDR: all publicity is good publicity

Worst song ever written by Noel and co-writers.

Your reminder that this guy has so pathetic a singing voice that his X Factor audition was only shown months later and for a matter of seconds, but Cowell wanted his boy band and his face fitted. Absolutely stealing a living.

Absolutely stealing a living. All the best to him, too. Anyone would do it if they could. Made the most of whatever 'talent' he's got. Good for him.

The single bombed. It didn't break the US or UK charts, and it failed where it did chart. Noel isn't making any money off of this shit. Apparently the album is terrible and inspired by Oasis, two things that shouldn't go together. I'm not listening to it.

I find it strange to have so much resentment against a young lad who has had a tough time recently with the tragedy of losing his mother and sister and loves Oasis so makes a song and video that shows that. The song is not my thing either but personal comments about the lad are unnecessary.
