Let It Be Boxset has been announced. I bought the last three so I'll have to get this one. The original Get Back album is included.

The documentary series with Macca and rick Rubin. Could have watched 1000 episodes. So interesting. Loads of old stuff we know, but also a lot of new and interesting bits about songwriting. Amazing.

Would love to see it but that means getting an Apple TV subscription. And even more disheartening is finding out that Peter Jackson's Let It Be documentary is being split into three parts and shown exclusively on Disney rather than the intended release in cinemas. An absolute bummer (I was looking forward to seeing The Beatles on the big screen for the first time too). I'm not paying these companies numerous subscription fees to see something that really should be more widely available. The TV viewing market is so fragmented these days (like music) but these multiple streaming services are starting to take the piss in my view. Doesn't do anything for big brand names like The Beatles too when only a small section will be able to watch it, unlike the general mass public access that cinemas would bring.

Industry is trying to figure out how to handle the inevitable decline in theaters, unfortunately. Believe me, a lot of people are very worried about the future. It was bad before and worse now in this hazy sort-of-post-pandemic-but-not-really time. That said, dozens of streaming services is probably not sustainable long term and there will be further shakeouts down the road. As for the Beatles doc, you can join Disney for a month and quit it and it's the same price as streaming a movie on some services. Or it will eventually be out on DVD.

Well for me it's different, the 321 Macca Documentary was on Disney + and I dont pay for it, it's free with my other TV subscription. Same for Netflix. Matt, you can always download it somewhere else, like torrents or get a month free as Bomb said. You'll watch it in an afternoon, believe me, you just can't stop. I hope they do that series with other artists, though. Very interesting how they analyzed some tracks. Only for music nerds though. Macca is becoming more and more me me me though, Rick Rubin could just let one anecdote in. It was not a conversation If there is something you absolutely want to watch, just create a new email address, take 2 mins, get a month free. Job done. Streaming services will change in the next few years, no way that many can survive, well except those that don't need the money (apple tv, Amazon, Disney) As for fragmentation, i doubt many people would have been interested in seeing yet another Beatles documentary, especially about Let It Be. Beatles fans will find it, and i'm glad this was made.

Chief shoe counter Andy Bell is on this week's "I Am The EggPod" discussing "Revolver" and at one point he says "As a wise man once said "True perfection has to be imperfect" Which is nice isn't it Andy?

There is no way that Noel was the first one who said that.

There is no way that Noel was the first one who said that. “True perfection seems imperfect but it is perfectly itself.” -- Lao Tzu But actually that is a different point than Noel was making and anyway do we really believe Noel was reading Lao Tzu for kicks? (Although ... Lao Tzu also said “music in the soul can be heard by the universe," so maybe Noel was a kindred spirit.)

I just don't think it is that wise and actually even I probably thought about something like that before I even heard Little By Little. It's funny to have that quote as something wise that Noel said xD It's like thinking that "Rome wasn't built in a day" is created by Morcheeba.

Let It Be reissue comes out Friday.
Does anyone know if the Beatles vinyl boxsets usually come with a download code? I was thinking of getting the CD boxset until recently but for an extra £20 I think I should probably go for the vinyl version for the Glyn Johns mix LP alone.
I kinda resent the idea of paying £130 for the vinyl set though and then not being able to have the files on my phone for the office / out and about.

Agree mate, it's pissed me off actually the last few vinyl's I've bought haven't had the download code. No way am I buying multiple copy's of an album I use the digital files as I still use my ipod

Are they selling on vinyl just the Glyn Johns original track list for Let It Be? It’s the only thing that interests me outside the doc.

I could imagine it getting a RSD release next year though in a unique colour or something. Milk the fans and all that. I would also really like it on CD to sit with my other Beatles stuff but that's even more unlikely I expect.

They obviously want people like us to buy the CD set as well or pay for an additional download.

The news that the 90 minute cinema documentary was being changed to a 6 hours streaming TV series was an absolute dream come true for me!

Weird to see them so human, so HD. They are almost mythical, like something you just heard of but never seen in real life. Like bigfoot. I suggest releasing the 57 hours of footage next, no cut. I'm HYPED

The trailer looks fantastic.
Very excited to get Disney+ back next month to watch this and then The Book Of Boba Fett in December.

Looks absolutely incredible.
Was worried that stretching it to 7 episodes would just be too much padding but Peter Jackson will surely spin a fine narrative with this.
Still regret the fact we won't be able to see this in the cinemas though.
