Looks absolutely incredible. Was worried that stretching it to 7 episodes would just be too much padding but Peter Jackson will surely spin a fine narrative with this. Still regret the fact we won't be able to see this in the cinemas though. You can see that narrative already unfolding. The initial, less happy sessions at Twickenham followed by the meeting with George (the turning point), the move to the happier surroundings of the Apple offices building to the climax of the rooftop gig. I hadn't been that interested before, after watching that trailer? I'm in.

I just watched an unboxing video of the vinyl boxset, I can confirm there is no download card included I'll probably buy the CD boxset in that case.

I think when so much is said about the nature of their relationship during this time is all second hand, just observing innocuous interactions in that clip is extra fascinating. There's still a hell of a lot of life and energy between them - it can't be any other way surely, especially if they recorded Abbey Road after this.

For some reason I've totally lost the interest in the Beatles these past couple of years (while constantly rediscovering something new and exciting about the Rolling Stones ) but that trailer does look pretty good!

Giles Martin's done a really stellar job on The Long & Winding Road. Phil Spector's saccharine production isn't so in your face, and Paul's piano and vocals are more present in this mix.
The ultimate mix of the song at long last.

Completley forgot this was out !
Gimme some truth 😂 wtf is that light ballad version
Maybe the less impressive rework of the albums so far, because of the sessions maybe. Give us revolver / rubber soul, you fools.

Was there ever an explanation as to why I want you/She's so heavy ends so suddenly? It influenced Dream Theater's Pull me Under (not James' shirt as a joke about the song goes)

It influenced Dream Theater's Pull me Under (not James' shirt as a joke about the song goes) Just Lennon wanting a surprise, according to the mythology. He just said "cut it there" to surprise the listener and they did. Same for Her Majesty. Was supposed to somewhere else on the record (after Mean Mr. Mustard if i remember correctly my readings) but Macca didn't like it. Yes the engineer had for rule to never erase anything they recorded so they stuck it at the end of the tape. Macca liked that and voila...

Because it was their musical idea to end that way.

The 2021 mixes of Across the Universe and The Long and Winding Road are sublime.

The Stones are great in their own right. He’s talking out of his arse. I’m probably a bigger Beatles fan as well.

So, Let It Be or Let It Be... Naked? Any album that has ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ on it beats one that doesn’t… so ‘Naked’… it sounds better too.
