This has to be the worst songwriting stretch in Noel's carreer. I mean i cant remember him writing very forgettable ones for consecutive stretches like these eps It really is terrible. It's always the repetitive rythm with some screaming lady in the back and stupid nonsense lyrics. I mean 80% of this song is keep on reaching lol. Noel just doesnt have it anymore while Liam is motivated and it pays off, you get good results lol |

Melody when he sings “Evil Flower” is exactly the same as when he sings “Keep On Reaching”. It’s almost like an outtake from a slowed down jam of Keep On Reaching. Fine for what it is but not for me mate

As per most of his tracks lately, this song would be better if Noel didn't sing on it. It actually sounds great until then.

First listens only, but predictably I prefer the Reflex version. Get that man doing the drums on the next album!!
And... does it sample the same cat that is in Charly?!

I hate to say it, but it starts to grate on me in his latest songs. Why not let Ysee sing properly for once or give her a break and make it an instrumental? I think I would prefer that here as I would have in "This is the place".

It reminds me of Eye Of The Storm and some of Brendan Lynch's remixes that Paul Weller put on his b-sides. I love all that but this is too repetitive. I like it but it just repeats with not much changing where as Weller's had plenty going on in the music. Even if it was half the duration it would still be too long I think. That said, and as someone had already said, it is only a b-side anyway.

On first listen, it's a OK jam, a mix of "Keep on reaching" & drowsy Second Coming-era Stone Roses.
Lacks a melody: as it is the groove doesn't really go anywhere.
Ysée's vocals/wails didn't grate me much, maybe they'll grow more irritating after repeated listens, but it's indeed a shame that Noel doesn't make her sing better things. It's like hiring a good lead guitarist & relegating him to playing feedback in the background.
I listened to the remix once as well, & I don't think I'll ever listen to it again. I'm not a fan of remixes anyway so didn't expect much from it.
