I remember in an old interview Liam said how he hated waiting so long between each Oasis album. I guess now that he's solo, he can just create and release at his own free will. Would be great if we got a third this year. I hear what you are saying but a lot of people on this forum thought he rushed this current album to release. I’m not one of them but I can see their points. It’s a tall task for any Gallagher to work that fast and prolific. I don't think it was rushed. If he's got the tunes, confidence and a good team behind him, I don't see any point in waiting. I'm just hoping for an Ashcroft collab on the next album.

I agree there’s no point in waiting if you’ve got it all together, but obvious patching from sessions over a year apart as well as cancelling a Euro tour to squeeze in a recording stint is definitely not ideal. Those fans may now have their album because it was rushed, but they are still waiting for their gigs over a year later.

About that punk album he’s always teased us with...I say let’s finally do something about it. Instead of working with the same co-writers, I’d love to see Liam work with other legendary collaborators like Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols, Paul Simonon of the Clash, Steve Diggle of Buzzcocks, Bruce Foxton of the Jam, and write a batch of new songs to release. A quick and dirty 33 minute DIY burst of guitar riff glory. This will never happen. Have you heard the music paul simonon makes with good the bad and the queen wouldn’t say he was punk these days. These rest of them are no longer making contemporary music. I would say the live version of greedy soul is about punk as Liam will get these days But wouldn't it be brilliant to hear Headshrinker-esque smash the ball out the park guitar heavy tunes as a whole album. I for one am 100% up for a punkier non soppy ballard album. The only way ive come near to this is mashing his two albums together with the most similar to this type of tune as my Liam playlist.

Would welcome some more rock/punk-ish record as his voice is perfect for these kind of songs. But definitely not want him to work with some old geezers who been "punk" like 30 years ago. Giving his sound a modern twist worked out so well so he should go that way whatever his next album will sound like.
Collaborations I'd like to see in the future: Ashcroft, Taylor Hawkins/Dave Grohl - if he wants to add some punk vibes go with somebody like Idles or Slaves.

Eh La and The Worlds In Need are floating around. Though neither will most likely be on the record.

I can see why he wants to keep at it but I really wish we get some solo penned LG tunes on the 3rd, stuff like I've All I Need or Greedy Soul are high peaks on As You Were.

I'd like to reiterate: Even if Liam makes a 'punk record', It may not actually be punk. He's really bad at describing things. He called flick of the finger punk.

I’ll gladly take greedy soul, but the I’ve all I need, universal gleam, and start anew style songs are played out in my opinion. He can do those in his sleep the way Noel can churn out if I had a gun/the dying of the light (which are far superior even though they’re generic Noel).

If Liam is dropping a new song next Friday then we can cross off Noel doing anything that week. On to mid February!

Another acoustic session? Maybe Team Liam is prepping some sort of Record Store Day release. It’s almost that time of the year when those things get announced.

I do try... subtly... Do you have any insight on how the label or Team LG feel about the sales for WMWN? And I hope he knows he hit it out of the park with it, no sophomore slump for R Kid! No sorry, I don’t get to hear anything about what the label would consider successful and Liam’s units of measure are how up for it the crowd are at gigs. As far as the label are concerned, is enough ever enough? We’ll see another exciting push in a few weeks. To answer your thoughts on the chart thread, yeah I can see WM?WN. hitting 200k later in the year.
