Underrated gig, listen to Liam on Songbird: lovely rasp and tone The best live version of Songbird ever in my opinion! With the full band anyway, and while I'm at it the whole gig was the best of the entire DBTT tour too

I haven't listened tonit since months. Somehow the only track I come back to sometimes is more power. I really prefer his first two albums, but I get why people like it. I fell of the gallagher train during the last year sonehow, but occasionally come back for slmething like a few tracks of Chasing Yesterday or As you were. I listened to Don't believe the truth a few weeks ago deom start to finish and really liked it. Especially Liams songs feel really organic and in place. Which is kinda the thing that I miss grom his last solo album.

I gave my 2 cents on Noel’s recent output so it’s only right that I give my thoughts on Liam’s.
‘C’mon You Know’ is pretty bad innit? ‘Diamond In The Dark’ is about the best song on the album despite the fact that the verses sound like a bad Arctic Monkey verse circa 2013.
There’s nothing else even worth mentioning. Sad really.
One of the main problems with Liam’s output is the generic arrangements and production. “In what direction should we go with this track Liam?…. LG: just make it rock and roll, man”… “What about this one?… LG: make it weird and psychedelic, y’know what I mean”
The band behind him almost never sound tight. It’s all a bit of a copy and paste job and it ends up sounding like a predictable mess, especially when there’s multiple songwriters and producers throughout.
From Liam’s entire solo output so far the best “sounding” track is ‘Alright Now’ from the second LP. The band cooks on that track and it’s a great mix and more importantly it’s a really good song. But whoever that band is behind him on that track, he should sign them up full time. I think ‘Glimmer’ may have the same backing, just going by my untrained ear.

Being totally honest here but it also doesn’t help when I’ve realised that I’ve completely out-matured Liam as a person.

All of these are pure quality in my opinion.

Sad to say but I agree, the albums have got worse. He needs Noel, but sadly Noel doesn’t need him. It's hard to know deep down that Liam's solo career is way better than Noel's. When we can't admit it to ourselves we try to fill the forum with idiotic comments in order to make the right tons of criticism that Noel is receiving more bearable. It's like you're saying to yourself, "I'm sick of Liam currently being better than Noel and reading him all over the place. So now I'm writing nonsense against Liam to feel better when I'm in here." How do we compare. Here are a few areas. 1) popularity. Liam wins hands down. He has become a true legend. 2) songwriting. Noel…but his writing stinks these days. I prefer Liam’s songs, but I won’t push and say he’s better songwriter overall. 3) live band. Liam now. Noel’s adoption of the worst parts of Beady Eye is silly. And the others aren’t very good. 4) attitude. Liam. Noel lbs such a jerk. Liam is going strength to strength while Noel is writing boring songs wrapped in cool production.

Give me generic oasis production vs silly Pro logic synths of Noel’s world. It meets my expectations

Not much difference between both brothers’ sound in 2022. Both very sterile.

Pure Gym had the Better Days video/song on the other day. It's grown on me a bit since it first came out.

I didn't know where to publish it, however the new single by Tommaso Paradiso, a well-known Oasis fan, reminds me too much of the Better Days video.
