Charts don’t mean a lot now days for artists like Liam he does a steady 100k which is impressive when you compare to what others are doing look at the big sellers they aren’t in millions anymore, it’s all about touring , but the oasis sales are unreal to be fair the staying power is crazy, morning don’t seem to have been out the charts for years , yet it’s still stuck on its 90s sales figures!

Yeah all true and to get 100k in sales is impressive. MG to get over 500 weeks in the charts is mad! You'd think another certificatation is due sooner rather than later.

Not listened to whole album for a little while till yesterday on a walk. It does still hit tye enjoyment button. For me now the main duff track is "it wasn't ment to be" skip this mostly now. Joker really sticks and would love to hear this and Wave live.

Agreed. And, you're right Liam doing a 100k is impressive for an artist like him. Also, there's so many different charts these days anyway and they're not what they used to be.

Bits of it are OK..and then basically finishes at 3 mins with outro just not enough to make me like it thar much. He sounds good vocally just for me it's the Alright Now of this album. Not bad for a whole album to not have me ditching half of it though like WMWN

I think that it'll be interesting to see how well Noel's new album does next year in the charts and I have no doubts that it won't get to number one. But I'm thinking more of how many weeks it'll spend in the top 40 and will it be the more or less the same as Liam's latest album.

Noel will most likely debut at #1 with strong sales supported by huge physical format sales. It’ll then fall off because unless it makes a key Spotify or apple music playlist it’ll just sorta fade away.

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I'm also curious if anyone else misheard a lyric from "I'm Free" Actual Lyric: "Hitting the sauce until you think you're a boss, you're so cracked" What I thought I heard: "It ain't the sauce until ya finger a boss......." It really caught me off guard on that first listen, had a good laugh about it after finding out the correct lyrics. You don't hear Liam pronounce like that often so it's understandable. Till you fink ur a boss... It's part of why i like the song actually, hearing Liam do something different, it's probably how he imagined he sounded live during his shouty phase. I remember thinking the lyrics in The Turning were shake your reptile baby so we all make mistakes

It's a shame really that the charts are mainly based on streams these days.

I'm still listening to this album and I still enjoy it a lot. It's just that I'm not listening to it quite as much as I was when it was first released.

Not detracting at all from the many of you that think it's his strongest effort so far, but i'm also only listening to a handful of songs off CYK now.
I think now the dust has settled its very much done it's job and been another success, but i think he will change up the formula next time. I don't get the impression he is 100% happy with it himself, and i think maybe working with Wyatt for a few songs and more with others could be a better approach than just one main writer.

I'd assume a lot of artists would be demanding it. Sounds trivial I know but being on a playlist is more influential these days than exposure from 'tastemakers' of yesteryear like NME.

Not sure how they do it. But it’s huge if you get on one of the more prominent placed playlists.

No idea as I don't use either of those streaming sites as there's so many better ones around.

I still enjoy all three of Liam's albums but Come On You Know is his best in my opinion.

As with any digital aspect of entertainment these days, there are PR firms that specialize in pitching to playlists. But of course they can't turn water into wine. The song has to do some of the work and it helps if the artist is seen as cool and relevant in general (by which I mean that broader PR and promotion also helps. Someone who seems, to use a Liam word, "omnipresent" is going to make it onto more lists.)

Am I the only one who feels the album hype almost disappeared sometime after Everything’s Electric was released ? Yeah the Knebworth build up was great to secure the #1 spot but literally no one outside the fan base cared about Better days & the album is out of the UK charts after 5 weeks. Diamond in the dark should have been released instead of Better days I guess.

If this version had been included in the abum and released as a single instead of "Better Days" I'm sure things would have been much better ... However managing a promotion during the post-covid is really difficult ... The infections are increasing enormously again and many states don't know how to handle show business ... Plus people are consuming tons of money with covid 19 tampons and the general mood is one of depression and confusion

Yeah I’m still listening aplenty aswell!
The songs I come back to the most are Moscow Rules and I’m Free, along with More Power.
My least played is probably Oh Sweet Children.
The rest I listen to fairly regularly
