All the Glasto talk is making me massively jealous. Tried and failed at getting tickets.
Will be watchong at home, but it's never the same. NG then Macca is like a dream line up for me. Only thing missing is LG!

Hey, not bad! COYK is #2 on the Hungarian top 40, Thames came in at #8. That's pretty good, considering that AYW was #16, WMWN was #2 and I think the MTV Unplugged was maybe #5 but that was released on its own. Nice work! Dropped to only #3 for the second week. Kinda surprising.

More Power A childrenβs choir is a risk at any time π Thankfully there was no need to worry. Itβs a beautiful tune, never tryβs too hard to be too big. It has some lovely touches, Liam singing βYouβre never aloneβ behind the choir and the BJM guitar during the outro. 8/10 Diamond In The Dark Very Artic Monkeys and very good. Lyrically itβs excellent and it has a really great atmosphere. The instrumental break leading in to Liam singing βDesperate eyes!β Is lovely. 9/10 Donβt Go Halfway Itβs a mess, but quite an entertaining one. Like many of the songs on the album it gives you a little more with every listen. There seems to have been complaints about the lyrics but I like the fact they are specific. I like the fuzzy guitars and itβs a Liam vocal that really suits the song well. 6.5/10 Cβmon You Know I wasnβt sure to start with but like a few more on this album it rewards repeated listens. The backing sings emphasising the start of each line a a nice touch and the music falling away when Liam sings βSick of acting like Iβm toughβ is the highlight of the song. The outro is top as well.7/10 Too Good For Giving Up Obligatory ballad. Liam tries hard to rough it up but it isnβt enough for me. Itβs not a bad song, itβs well written lyrics are fine but not for me. Nothing Nowhere in this spot would have blasted this album in to orbit. It Was Not Meant To Be Itβs more catchy than it initially appears, musically thereβs quite a lot going on and it boasts a lovely fairground finish.6/10 Everythingβs Eletric I already preferred the RAK version but hearing it at Knebworth and seeing the reaction made me realise why this works. Always liked the verses, starting to get my head round the chorus. A good single. 7/10 Worldβs In Need Liam near his best. As I said somewhere else, simple, melodic, direct. Great thing about this tune is I think the album and live versions offer you something different and I like both. This is where Wyatt shines as well, the string arrangement at the end is good. 7.5/10 Moscow Rules - Amazing tune. Didnβt get it at first, now canβt get enough of it. The chorus a one of those again that doesnβt go too big. It leaves you wanting more. Great Liam vocal and lyrics 9/10 Iβm Free Thereβs some nice ideas here, especially the reggae elements but Iβm not having it really. Liam sings it like heβs trying to be 20 years younger. 4/10 Better Days The 10 seconds are like opening a window on a summers day and hearing birdsong! I like the vibe, the drums the vocal which is right in Liams zone. Some of the lyrics are a little ropey but other than that itβs decent. 7/10 Oh Sweet Children - Love this as closer, the opening synths remind me of the Killers. The verses are fine but letβs face it, the whole song built for the McCartney walk up In to that soaring chorus. Again, it doesnβt try to go to hard, itβs an epilogue, a fitting one at that. 7/10 Put simply Liamβs best album and so unlike most other Oasis or Gallagher related releases. Itβs not all immediate, not all of it lands straight away. The more you listen to it the more you get out of it. This feels like the end of a process that began with songs like One of Us and Alright Now. Perhaps this will end up being the best distillation of Wyattβs eclectic vision and Liam keeping things grounded. Will be more than happy to them back for the next one. Would like one more Liam song on the next one though! Nice review! Any thoughts on the bonus tracks?

Itβs quite poetic actually My take on the line - in the Ian Robertson book, Liam was always referred to as Lion. It's also been said that Liam is the one keeping the Oasis legacy alive - the ark. I see that three lines as basically saying I'm doing well, I'm keeping my feet on the ground. "Shining like a diamond in the dark" "Floating like a lion in an ark" "Walking round in circles in the park"

The Lion is the King of the jungle. Could be implying he's the king of the chaos (the ark story).

Its of course easy to read too much into a lyric, they probably just thought it sounded funny. However what I take from that lyric is the sense that a lion (an apex predator) floating in water is completely removed from it natural environment so gives a sense of vulnerability and being lost. Which fits with the song being about a broken down relationship.

But I always take notice of them but that lyric in Diamond In The Dark I've never had a problem with.

Said it before but Liam gets way too much scrutiny on his lyrics. Especially on tunes he's written himself.
You play Worlds In Need to literally any non fan and no ones gonna pick up on any of them lyrics at all, yet listening to people on here its all the same shit about nursery words.
I guess he made a rod for his own back with Little James. It doesn't matter that he's followed that up with Songbird and Born On A Different Cloud. He'll always get this kind of stuff which is a shame.

Still not over how amazing More Power is. It scratches the Oasis itch for me in a way. It's incredibly arranged/produced. The choir was a risky move but ends up elevating the song.
It's already close to the top of Gallagher tracks as a whole for me.

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I'm also curious if anyone else misheard a lyric from "I'm Free"
Actual Lyric: "Hitting the sauce until you think you're a boss, you're so cracked"
What I thought I heard: "It ain't the sauce until ya finger a boss......."
It really caught me off guard on that first listen, had a good laugh about it after finding out the correct lyrics.

A great thing with More Power is you don't get the feeling the words are someone else effort. That song is 100% what LG is as an artist in 2022, not even trying to be that great single like Once was. Just one soulful great opening track.

actually strikes me very much as sounding like a song by The Move, which was the proto ELO but with Roy Wood alongside Jeff Lynne. Well worth checking out if you don't know em
