I like the song but something about the production I don't quite like... Then I saw Sardy produced it and that explains it. Pretty sure Noel produced it. Our worst fears have been realized, the student has become the master.

Going out on a limb and saying it's the best thing he's put out since before WBTM. I love the drums and general sound of everything.
People slating Sardy for the drums etc on NGHFB record, well if you remember, it was Dave who was saying they needed to redo the drums on some songs and Noel was like 'fuck it, who cares about the drums anyway?' So it's Noel's fault! Though half that record really does sound like crap (If I Had A Gun is terrible production/mixing for such a great song)

Just like with people, I find that you enjoy it more if you can appreciate it for what it is rather than what you’d prefer it to be.
I’ll be the first to say it’s not the sort of thing I typically go to when I feel like enjoying music. But I do like it. It’s very exciting, well textured, colourful etc and there’s a tune in there. It’s very much a Hacienda kind of song, I get the Voodoo Ray bits in there. I’m keen to hear how they try to do this live. So I’d say 6.5-7?
It’s nice and enjoyable but like everything else Gallagher that’s come out this cycle, it doesn’t grab me in a way that makes me really care. That’s a reflection on me, of course, not the quality of the music. But it feels as if Liam and Noel are both at different ends of the spectrum musically, and where Liam is playing it overly safe with his approach, Noel is way out of left field to point where the music is less enjoyable but still interesting at least.
In the end, I’m happy to hear new material from our guys and I’m glad they’re happy and excited about the music they’re making.

Starts great but doesn't go anywhere and it feels too crowded when the female backing singer starts wailing away. If you could stick the chorus from BSD on this then we would have a winner.

I've given it a few more listens. It's grown on me a bit but I just don't think there is that much of a song there. I really like the bass and the verses but the chorus just lacks any bite and ultimately let's it down.
5.5-6/10 for me.

My note goes from 7 to 8. Amazing tune really, huge huge production. Noel sure can record bass and drums now. He should remix all of BHN, it would be monstrous.

Finally had time to listen to this. I understand some people not liking the song but I don’t get saying it doesn’t have a hook or melody, the song is non stop hooks. Especially Ysee’s vocal in the chorus which is lovely. I can’t wait to hear the rest of the ep

If he can mature this style and add a big chorus and vocal melody to the big beats and bass-lines he could create an absolute monster. X

I’m only on my second listen, that’s how little I care to listen to this. There are parts I like, but overall not doing it for me. Would be surprised if this grows even a tiny bit.
I do get a feeling for Republica’s Ready to Go - which was my jam in 1997.

I’m telling you, listening to this song with a proper set of speakers changes everything. I went from indifferent on first listen to downright obsessed now. My surround system’s DSP does a great job separating out all the different tracks into different channels, and I’m STILL hearing new things on this that I haven’t heard before.
Did you know there’s fucking bongos in this?? There’s at least 2 or 3 drum tracks! It’s crazy how much Noel was able to stuff in here.
I also don’t get people who say this song doesn’t have a strong chorus. The piano & xylophone thing in the upper register provides an addictive counter-melody through most of the track, and it plays really nicely against the thumping, sinister bassline on the low-end. The drums are so aggressive and punchy, the vocals trance-like & hypnotic and all together it really becomes something special. It takes you on a fucking journey.
I haven’t had this much fun listening to a Gallagher-related track since the Be Here Now era.

5. Boring. Very boring. With no melody.Goes nowhere. Same feeling. Black Star Dancing was very catchy, good disco vibe. But this...I listened to it 3-4x max. The production is great and interesting sound effects, but it's just very very boring. Also gave a 5.

I heard the bongos the first time i gotta say, but discovering new stuff still. Just been listening to CY after This Is the Place, and it's night and day. He's really evolved in a few years as a producer, or maybe has better engineers Makes you wonder what the next single, the "huge" one is gonna be like.

I like the groove but I am not that convinced somehow. there are parts I like but overall it did not get me that much. some of the production seems too much for me. Like noel now is forced to show us how out there he can be. just my opinion. I gave it 6 although I was between 6 and 7.

I’ll give it a 6. It’s an ok song. Really love the overdriven bass and the female backing vocals (which I think have been sung and then sampled) but let’s be honest, the Chemical Brothers etc do this type of song much much better than this. It’s fairly predictable and I don’t think his voice suits this type of song. It would actually sound better if he’d got someone else in to sing it.
By the sound of Noel having a pop at Liam in his recent interview (think it was the Guardian link on here) he thinks this is sophisticated music. Not a fucking prayer Noel. He’s never made any sophisticated music! One of his problems is that he is a bit behind the times with regards to what can be achieved with all the digital DAW’s and Plugins out there today so when he’s working with someone like David Holmes, he thinks he’s some sort of forward thinking musical wizard when in reality, thousands of so called amateur musicians and producers can do it too.
Anyway, 6 out of 10 from me.

I think people are taking the whole “sophisticated” thing wildly out of context. Noel has never once called his own music “sophisticated”, so I don’t know why people just jump on that.
What he said was Liam’s new music is particularly UNsophisticated. It’s just a point of comparison, that Noel is trying to make music with more variety, compared to what Liam’s doing. But I don’t think Noel has any pretension that he’s breaking some kind of new artistic ground that’s never been done before musically.

Perhaps, but for one musician to label the music of another musician as unsophisticated naturally infers that the first musician does not regard their own music as unsophisticated. Ergo, if one is not unsophisticated, then one is sophisticated.

Never thought anyone would use « ergo » ever on here
As for shophistication, playing shockwave or the river right after this is a pain to the ear. Cheap, very cheap.
Still enjoyable thanx to Liam vocals though.

I was going to put in my post that he didn’t actually say his was sophisticated but pulled it out cuz I thought people would get that. But the fact that he said Liam’s was unsophisticated leans to him thinking his is. He must think it’s more sophisticated than Liam’s for him to say that. When actually, it isn’t really.

I, for one, really like both BSD and TITP. I can't decide which I prefer. BSD grew on me (kinda still is), while TITP was more instant. I also quite like RR and SO (though not as much as the other two.
I was worried that BSD might be a one off dance track, so I was thrilled he came out with TITP. I am hopeful for the third one. I kind of wish this was all leading up to a full album, especially when playing BSD and TITP back-to-back.

Too far from Oasis for me, it looks like a mix with Madonna/Chemical Brothers.
Techno music = 1.
I lost Noel Gallagher, i still have Liam (plz no more "it doesn't have to be that way" or you can join the flying birds lol).
