FFS, this song and this thread both have already jumped the shark, and both are only a few days old. Fucking Sardy !!! Sardy had nothing to do with this song.

What songs are weak, though? Fort Knox isn't. Holy Mountain certainly isn't. She Taught Me How To Fly isn't. It's A Beautiful World has one of the most soaring choruses he's written in years. DITW could have been released as a b-side and on the Masterplan, let's be honest. His last album got to number 1. And the singles off it 'registered outside of hardcore fanbases' just as much as the singles off Chasing Yesterday did. Holy Mountain will be as familiar to people now as Heat of the Moment was by late 2015, or as The Death Of You And Me was by 2012. Also, by the time last summer had rolled around and he was playing festivals - casuals crowds - the new stuff all went down really well. I've said it before but the Tramlines gig I went to in July is by far the best Noel has been live, and anything but bland. Should be careful with absolutes. Your comments are opinion. I personally think HM is utter shit, IABW is decent until the chorus (which ruins it in my opinion), and STMHTF is the definition of bland. It’s personal taste. I don’t dislike the style he’s attempting, I just don’t think he’s good at it and it loses some of the genius that made me love Noel Gallagher. I.e.: songwriting/melodies. Plus his voice sounds weak to me. Why should I be careful? The poster I was responding to wasn't being? You aren't being. We're on a forum... like literally every post is someone's opinion isn't it? I don't think any of us should have to state the disclaimer (IMO) after every sentence

Absolutely loving the irony of Beady Eye fans using ABBA as an insult for poor taste. It would be interesting to see reactions if it had been Noel rather than Liam/Beady Eye who released the likes of Flick of the Finger or even Wall of Glass. FOTH & WAG are tunes, Black Lab Limping is not my cup of tea, I loved the first 2 NGHFB albums, WBTM is a grower and I have a hefty collection of live HFB's, but Black Ant Twitching....meh

Whose the singer? I like how Noel’s added more female presence to his music, instead of the stale sausage fest of previously. Her presence gives much needed style and charisma to what used to be a fairly dour live act after the Oasis split (of course, Beady Eye were ten times worse of course in their lack of charisma).

This clip reaffirms how much the song reminds me of POP-U2. If Noel had a snazzier stage with props and animated lighting work it would be more appealing to the masses.

These upcoming acoustic shows seem to be coming at really awkward time for Noel. Gotta imagine he’s not feeling it, having to sit down and play Talk Tonight when his mind and interests are so far away from that kind of music at the moment.

Sorry, lost my mind for a minute there. This is still Noel Gallagher, some things won't change

If I remember correctly they were advertised as full band and not acoustic. Just smaller venues.

If I remember correctly they were advertised as full band and not acoustic. Just smaller venues. You could be right. All the announcement says is “intimate, seated shows.” Could be the whole band. Still, would be strange to see BSD going down with everyone just sitting there like school children.

The band are incredibly tight. The musicianship from them all is on a different level, but especially between Noel, Gem and Chris Sharrock. Ysee, Jess and Charlotte (scissors) really add a different dynamic and Russ and Mike keep it steady on the bass and keys. They put on a great show and the songs are definitely elevated (especially STMHTF and IABW).

Stating opinion as fact makes people look silly and in many cases, causes others not care what you have to say in the future. For the record, not everyone’s posts are opinion; factual information is posted all the time. And I’m not sure which part of my post you’re referring to, but I’m confident I didn’t present my opinions about those songs as fact.

People on here present opinion as fact all of the time. Have a scroll through previous posts if you don't believe me. IMO - it's a very catchy tune with some really good bits and some that are perhaps weaker than they could be. Noel's solo career - heck, Oasis' career - can probably be summed up that way.

You can say what you want about them, I get they weren't everyone's cup of tea and that's fine but no one can deny they were brilliant live and the atmosphere was always great. Maybe Matt is to cool to like Beady Eye? I don't know.
