Of course. Did you ever actually see Beady Eye live? Or are you just stating your unsupported opinions as if they were facts again? Saw Beady Eye 8 times live. You can say what you want about them, I get they weren't everyone's cup of tea and that's fine but no one can deny they were brilliant live and the atmosphere was always great. Maybe Matt is to cool to like Beady Eye? I don't know. God I wish I'd have been a fan then so I could have seen that!

Whose the singer? I like how Noel’s added more female presence to his music, instead of the stale sausage fest of previously. Her presence gives much needed style and charisma to what used to be a fairly dour live act after the Oasis split ( of course, Beady Eye were ten times worse of course in their lack of charisma). Of course. Did you ever actually see Beady Eye live? Or are you just stating your unsupported opinions as if they were facts again? It will be the latter. The fact matt is bringing up Beady Eye might say little something about what he really thinks of Black Star Dancing.

Everyone has their own opinion on this song. No need to compare this song to Beady Eye and no need to calling a certain member. Cheers.

I’ve changed my original score of 6 on first listen to a 9. Totally digging it. I can hear the Bowie influence, can also hear Madonna’s Vogue in the intro, not sure if this is a positive thing, but yeah I’m all over this now.

When I'm standing at the pearly gates and the old man asks me to look back at the top 5 gigs of my life, 4 of the 5 will require some serious thought, but the one that will immediately come to mind is Beady Eye, at the Chicago Metro 2011.

I saw Beady Eye twice and they were better than at least three Oasis gigs I've been to.

I saw Beady Eye twice and they were better than at least three Oasis gigs I've been to. This kinda reminds me of when Beady Eye were first getting going and early reviews and features on the band called them a “super” group because of the Oasis, Ride and La’s connections. That always amused me. Oasis wasn’t called a “super” group ever so I don’t know how such a label could ever be applied with Noel out of the band.

I don't want to be the whiny guy here, but we have countless threads about Beady Eye. You all know where this topic is going... so could we please keep this one for Black Star Dancing and related info? Cheers!

DGSS stinked but BE was a solid record. Doesn't deserve the hate it gets.

Honestly, i get what Noel is going for and i like that he's trying new things etc, but sadly it's sounds so dad rock sometimes.I love some of the 80's, 70's vibes we're getting from his latest work, but don't you guys think sometimes that he's just not a very good disco musician?
I mean, even that girl's cover above proves it's a great song. But that stubbornes in making it all sound disco and psychedelic or whatever...I'm cool if Noel likes it, but i don't think it suites him really.

Hard to judge because this is the first song that's really been remotely disco. STMHTF was more New Order than anything else and is one of the best things he's done in 15 years. Holy Mountain (which I get is either a love it or hate it thing) is just an outright joyous tune, but I wouldn't say it's disco. Other than that, AKA... What A Life is the closest he's come, and maybe Ballad Of The Mighty I. The first one of those is probably his best solo song. Black Star Dancing's a solid start. The first half of that tune for me is right up there. I think it loses some momentum after or around the solo; it feels like there could be something else there to take it to another level.

I still kinda like it. It feels like it's missing something to make it great but still quite good.
I'm looking forward to hearing the songs he said "People in Anoraks " will like.

For me, as a life long fan, I can honestly (and sadly) say that the man has lost it. This song is as bland as everything currently in the top 40.
He’s had a couple of stinkers down through the years (Force Of Nature, All In The Mind, Holy Mountain) but this is right up at the top of the list. It has absolutely zero redeeming quality.

Well, his voice isnt quite the Rock n rollers(Lock All The Doors is a great song, but I dont like How Noel delivers the singing in that one) like the faux jazz of CY, which to me its what fit Noel's voice best, but I like some of what he has put out lately, wish he could go further into funk than Keep On Reaching, without singing that high if possible.

Of course. Did you ever actually see Beady Eye live? Or are you just stating your unsupported opinions as if they were facts again? You think I’ve gone this far out without seeing both brothers live? Barrowlands sometime early 2011, when novelty of of his ‘new band’ hadn’t worn off. The absolute pits, they were absolute shite and Liam’s vocal were typically poor then. Compared to Idlewild and Travis I’d seen in the same venue who absolutely nailed it, they all came off as a bunch on incompetent middle age plodders with tunes that were so poor. To be fair, I was naively expecting Oasis classics but never got them - they somehow thought The Beat Goes On and Wigwam was preferable to Morning Glory. Don’t care how you dress it up, they are shite tunes - you can’t be serious if you think tunes like The Roller are going to get you far. The first and only time I’d seen Liam live, but I know for a fact his solo performances (and album) outside of that band have drastically improved so this is no ‘anti-Liam’ post. If you haven’t got the tunes, you haven’t got the style. Fact. A vandalised billboard on the Gallowgate advertising the new album and gig said it all in spray paint - ‘same auld Beatles rehash’. Awful awful band. Noel’s performances in 2012 in Glasgow weren’t technically great, but he had some decent tunes with his solo album and the legitimate ownership of classic tunes, turning the arena into a massive singalong. Its taken a while but delighted Liam’s doing the same as Noel @ good modern day tunes interspersed with classics. Nobody can say that for Beady Eye. God knows why the band spectacularly failed....
