Genuinely, I don’t really follow Noel outside of his releases so am not clued up much about his touring band. Fairs. I'd honestly go and see him live if you can this year. The band are incredibly tight. The musicianship from them all is on a different level, but especially between Noel, Gem and Chris Sharrock. Ysee, Jess and Charlotte (scissors) really add a different dynamic and Russ and Mike keep it steady on the bass and keys. They put on a great show and the songs are definitely elevated (especially STMHTF and IABW). I’ll have to take your advice, I’ve only seen him only once years ago and really regret not seeing him again, given the great performances of his new tunes. I was totally digging tunes like Everybody’s On The Run and a couple others from his debut, but I was always looking forward to the classics when I saw him but Who Built The Moon felt like an album worthy of live performances itself, opinion based on some live videos I’ve seen. And shamefully, it’s only the last couple of months I’ve properly watched these performances. The first four tunes from his latest album opening the show are immense. The third tune Keep On Reaching - a tune I totally vouch for - sounds amazing live here. It’s energetic, propulsive and relentless in a way it not heard from him in years. A shame I missed him touring this album - my own fault as I thought I’d ticked that box seeing him live and perform the old classics, but man, I really wish I’d seen him do this album.

Love the energy that is added with ITHOTM. Please please please finish this. YO! NOEL! Add another background to BSD, something energetic, and I'm in! Called it Noel-Gallagher-Remixes-Noel-Gallagher.

Can't agree more mate. Seen him 3 times on the tour and Dublin will be the 4th. I've said tons but the time I saw him in July he was at his best imo. He's a proper frontman now. Yeh, he'll never be Liam, but he's got his own style and it works, and the band back it up.

I need to get the volume balance right and also see how the second part of BSD fits with ITHOTM

My only qualm with this track is the intro taking ages to get going properly.

The video is here. Weird one. It’s like he’s performing for the couple on the Stand By Me single artwork and all their friends.

Never good when you open with a joke song that's better than the song the video's actually promoting.

The video is here. Weird one. It’s like he’s performing for the couple on the Stand By Me single artwork and all their friends. Think that's the point. They released a 'behind the scenes' clip the other day which basically outlined that the idea was to have Noel and his band playing for an old Grenada studios turn night (they were on in the 70s and 80s on the TV in the UK).

So they basically made their own version of Weezer's Buddy Holly?
The concept is great, the problem is that it's a jokey kind of thing. And if you're gonna do that then the band has to be more playful than what they were.
Also, too many band members to do that kind of concept in that aspect ratio. Too often the framing just becomes sloppy because the director is trying to fit as many band members in a shot as possible.
Just needed better execution.
