Yeah I'd say 'doesnt sound finished' is a kind way of saying it is shit, which I'd agree with. I don't think the production was any better than Chasing Yesterday, and the best song TMWBTM would have fit on there fine. He doesnt need Holmes to tell him what to do, he's Noel fucking Gallagher. The same Noel Gallagher who stripped away anything interesting about The Mexican, gave it some boring production, and then added the line, "They say that you need love/Just like a kid on crack"? Yea, I'd say that one needs someone to tell him what to do. She bangs. She bangs. If you want to mention terrible lyrics and annoying melody on a more recent Noel album. Excuse me, she 'fell'. How on earth could I ever confuse the two? I guess you're right though, that song is definitely finished.
But hey, at least for The Mexican we got The Reflex La Revolucion remix out of that disaster of a song which is better than the official.

Holy Mountain's up there with the best things he's done since the 90's. Fact.

Imagine thinking songs like If Love is the Law, Holy Mountain, The Man Who Built the Moon, Black & White Sunshine, Be Careful What You Wish For, Fort Knox etc. didn't "sound finished." I'd like to know what people mean by "don't sound finished" because it feels like that term is always thrown around in lieu of "that song doesn't progress the way I want it to progress." Because believe me, the above songs "sound finished." The above songs have progressions. They have fine instrumentation. They aren't missing any glaring components; like maybe one song needed a bridge and doesn't have it or a song lacks variation in its voicings and instrumentation. Not trying to be directly critical of anyone, but I'd like some to hone what they mean by "don't sound finished" because that complaint usually sounds, I guess...too simple of a critique imo. I was pretty happy with MOON from top to bottom. Dig the new sounds and modern tones. That has always been lacking from the Gallaghers. I’d only make slight changes. - ditch the 2 plus minutes of the alarm clock ringing in Fort Knox. Maybe leave 10-15 seconds. It gets annoying after awhile. - combine the two instrumental tracks into one single song and place it at the mid way point of the record. It’s a tad disjointed as presently constructed. - I’d dump Dead In the Water. So not needed. Feels thrown on at the very last minute as magical silver bullet in case people hated the LP. Yeah I know it’s only the CD and delux versions but whatever. I’m also not in love with the recording they used for it. Honest take yes. Best take? No. - The album is Maybe missing one more track to make it feel more well rounded. Not sure how many songs Noel has left over. He had at least one which Holmes said was the best thing Noel did all session. We shall see what transpires.

It's a bit like it's unfinished or something So you wouldn't make changes to the other Gallagher-related albums? Or are those "unfinished" as well?

Both Who Built the Moon and As You Were sound like some of the most "finished" Gallagher releases since the 90s.
