Wasn't Come On Outside (would have been called Come On, Its Alright on DOYS I believe) a candidate for a potential single? I thought I read that somewhere. I also believe you could hear it playing on the Gold and Silver and Sunshine doc, just a shame those vocals weren't completed along with Record Machine. Yes. Noel said it on I believe LA radio in the winter of 2008 it was going to be the lead single but Liam never did the vocals (not buying that one Noel) and then he wrote TSOTL.

I keep saying to myself "Maybe it will be on the next album." after every single release. Not sure why he's never thought it was good enough to release. Did he just forget about it? Or does he think the demo is decent enough?

That song is now at least 11 years old and counting. Let that sink in.

Why are people so desperate to have old songs on a new album? I for one hope he won't include it and that we'll get new songs. Old stuff would be such a waste.

Let's hope he'll write some tunes this time. Only ones I care for from the last album are It's a beautiful world, if love is the law, the man who built the moon and dead in the water. 4 tracks, that used to be a single in the early oasis days.

Hoping Noel has a bit of a renaissance with this album. People said back in 2013 that Liam was never going to mature as a songwriter but then he gave us some of his best tunes with AYW. Maybe Noel can find a new style that works.

Or synth-wave

I can imagine Noel on these vocals. I think it would work. Plus, Danger Mouse. They'd do Noel solid I think.

I do think Come On Outside (or Come On It's Alright) would work with the Holmes treatment tbf, like how TMWBTM was done. Without that massive, cinematic feel it wouldn't really be anything but the plodding rocker that it is with the demo version, especially not without Liam's vocals. The only real demo that I really want to hear is 'Don't Stop Being Happy' or whatever it ended up being called by Noel on that Reddit chat. I just love the melody in it.

Isn’t the demo version of Come On Outside basically what would have been the studio version barring Liam’s vocals?
It has a choir on it low in the mix so I believe that’s what they recorded with the backing track for Dig Out Your Soul as opposed to just a home demo from Noel. In any case, we seem to have a pretty ‘full’ version of it already.
I definitely agree that it is a song that belongs to its time frame - I mean it definitely sounds like a song that fits on Dig Out Your Soul. It’s best left there, or as Noel says ‘its time has passed’.

I like his style of production but so many people have linked up with him over the last decade the idea of it has kinda lost its luster for me. I think both can do something more unique.

pre-album release: I HOPE ALL THE OLD DEMOS ARE RELEASED ON THIS ONE ALBUM post-album release: pf'schaw, so it's TECHNICALLY only 1 actual real song as Noel admitted he wrote tracks 3-9 in the last summer and imo that quite dates it whereas the HAHA so true. I'm guilty of it.

It's getting near that reunion time, innit. This is getting predictable those solo careers.

The only old song I'd be interested in getting on an album is Just Let it Come Down over Me, what a gorgeous little tune that is, and one that could work as an interlude around more "cosmic pop" tracks.

All Oasis albums post 90's are good albums by your average bands standard. The problem is their 90s work rivals the greats of Rock and Roll. So I do enjoy parts of all their 2000s albums but Oasis being one of my favourite bands is because of 94-96. It's amazing how many fantastic songs we got in two years.
In terms of overall quality, Noel solo easy surpasses later day Oasis. I just hope this time we get more songs on the album and it doesn't sound so compressed.

Are we thinking 2020 release? Noel usually takes ages to get his stuff out. Who knows how much early work has been done during the tour, but I’m thinking it’s nowhere near complete and we won’t hear a first single until late 2019 early 2020. Happy to be wrong though

It’s still my alarm for work every morning. Good way to ruin a song that Spot on. I had A-Punk by Vampire Weekend as mine for a while as I loved the song. Now it’s ruined.

It’s still my alarm for work every morning. Good way to ruin a song that Nah. For years I had the chorus to I'm Outta Time as my alarm. Was always a pleasure to wake up to. Eventually I got bored of it as an alarm, but certainly not as a song.

I would only want a new album version of Come on Outside if Liam were singing it. Otherwise, the current version we have now with Noel's vocals or an updated bonus track version, like how Revolution Song was properly released with the Deluxe Edition of CY. Let the main album be for everyone with just new songs that show a progression in sound and the deluxe edition be for the fans with some bonus tracks, outtakes, and maybe a remix or two.

I wouldn't call it an improvement, either, but it did give the song a proper release which was something.
