A newly launched website (thenownow.tv/) suggests the band's sixth album is on the way. Gorillaz returned from a six-year absence last year with Humanz, and we learned in December that they’d follow it up with another LP in quick succession this year. This would hold to the pattern they established with 2010’s Plastic Beach and 2011’s The Fall.
Let's hope that it will be a bit better than Humanz. What a rubbish record. The album will be called 'The Now Now' and it will be out on June 29th

Apparently it will only have two features, including Snoop Dogg. I have a playlist of Humanz which I quite enjoy:
1) Penthouse 2) Ascension 3) Saturnz Barz 4) Strobelite 5) Non Conformist Anthem 6) Sleeping Powder 7) Charger 8) Andromeda 9) Busted and Blue 10) I Switch my Robot Off 11) Let Me Out 12) She’s My Collar 13) The Elephant 14) Out Of Body 15) Ticker Tape 16) We Got the Power

The Fall was a different album from Plastic Beach but it was released as phase 3 (same as PB), and the new album is confirmed to be phase 5 instead of phase 4 like Humanz. So it's not an experiment or bonus album like The Fall was, this will have artwork and music videos.

I luckily got the new singles. They're called Humility and Lake Zurich. Both are really uptempo and electronic. I actually liked both. I mean, anything could be better than Momentz or any song from Humanz to me. Lake Zurich is an instrumental and Humility reminded me a bit of On Melancholy Hill but more uptempo. Also there will be a song called 'Hollywood' that features Snoop Dogg. You can find it live on YouTube

Wasn't impressed with Humanz, needed more Damon. New tunes sound alright. Hoping for a good album and return to form. Gonna give Plastic Beach a listen to later, big fan of that album.

Damon needs a proper Noel appearance.

Damon needs a proper Noel appearance. He really doesn't.

Damon needs a proper Noel appearance. He really doesn't. Yes he does after the over hype of their "collaboration" last year.

It would be nice. I don't think that he really needs it.

Yes he does after the over hype of their "collaboration" last year. That "hype" only existed on here - most of Gorrilaz fanbase barely know who Noel is, nevermind needing a collab with him.

Plenty of well known websites hyped it up. As we did. Bottom line is it didn’t deliver. If no one told us in advance that Noel was on the track then nobody would even know because you flat out can’t hear him at all. Jenny completely dominates the song and that is why We Got The Power is really a collaboration with her. Not Noel. And that is fine. But let’s not get the fans fired up for a below cameo status.

Everything with Gorillaz just seems ‘loose’ and ‘messy’ these days. All the ingredients are there but they ultimately lack the tunes of Demon Days. Now that was a really tight album, and the greatest blending of genres I’ve ever heard, even for someone not familiar with hip-hop you could really take it to your heart. I just wonder how much Danger Mouse had a hand in the creative process of that album as it is far far superior to every Gorillaz album (and every Blur album personally).
Maybe I’m just not giving albums like Humanz enough of a chance?

Lol that is what I was saying before. You were saying people want the Noel collaboration but outside this forum and old faded Britpop news sites the topic is non existent.

Those were the people I spoke of. Plus the forum. It was a let down because it wasn't a true collaboration.

Yeah Noel/Oasis are still big in the UK so if it truly happened the song would do very well in the charts.
