I still haven't watched it. Is there anything interesting music wise? I'm talking about unreleased Beady Eye snippets, demos or rehearsals.

There's a clip of Liam singing I've All I Need backstage at the Olympics (I think), found that interesting because it was knocking about before the BE sessions and wasn't used. Also a small clip of Liam playing something else backstage but there's talking over it so can't really hear all that much, haven't heard it before though.

I haven't watched this film since last Christmas when it was on TV. Mind you, I haven't watched any Oasis documentaries or dvds for a while.

That's great news but I'm quite surprised that the documentary hasn't been shown over there before now since it came out what two or three years ago. Plus it's already been shown on TV here in the UK twice now.

I put this on last night (it's on the Netflix now) and I wondered if Liam's had his teeth done. I know he had the front ones knocked out but in the footage of him in Beady Eye they look MASSIVE. Proper chompers like when Bart puts Grandpa Simpson's teeth in his mouth.

struck me there that liam's solo written tunes do sound like a continuation of beady eye (a good thing for me), and produced by Dan Grech-Marguerat do get to a 'modern liam' without the excess of kurtstin or wyatt.
shouldn't be forgotten that those were the tracks that obviously got the deal, so strange that Grech-Marguerat was frozen out after - personal stuff or label intervention I wonder?
I just hope that the fourth album is Liam and the band in the studio with a sympathetic producer who knows how to get live performance 'on tape' as it were....

That's been my biggest rub with the records post AYW. Dan produced IMO the best songs on the record and they were the perfect mix of being commercial without out being too Kurstin'd.
I am not complaining as overall the subsequent followups have been good to great, I think Dan brought out more heart out of Liam. Or maybe that is just me.

not just you, totally agree. Part of it is that I get the sense Liam had more input/control working with him, along the lines of what is seen in this clip.

True, but also easier to bring more heart out of someone when it's their own songs.

not just you, totally agree. Part of it is that I get the sense Liam had more input/control working with him, along the lines of what is seen in this clip. Reading between the lines, it seems very much to me like the label saw the success of AYW and his solo career in general and thought 'right, the voice and the face = money, the songwriting not so much, we'll focus on those stream-friendly hits to milk it for what we can and phase out the rest'. But I do think the post-AYW records lack a bit of heart. Too Good For Giving Up for example sounds to me like they saw they had moderate success with For What It's Worth and massive success with Once and had to ensure there was a ballad following the same formula but it seems to out of place.
