Finally got round to watching As It Was. Thought the first half was really good but the second half poor. I think they rushed the backstory and charted the comeback too quickly, so the second half felt more like a plodding PR job than retelling a story. There was no need to focus so much on him losing his voice in Argentina as the story went nowhere with it. The bits with Peggy and Paul were great though. Noticed they left in a couple of seconds of Fuckin in the Bushes when they showed him walking on stage. Agree completely. Lost its way once they seemed to forget what story they were telling I enjoyed it but it is what it is. An average film that was redone by a second director to bring it up to standard and suffering from more re-editing at last minute to accomodation denial of Oasis music rights. A bit disjointed but all in all it was a minor miracle they got anything half decent out of it.

I'm looking to buy the blu-ray on Amazon UK but it is classified as Region B.
Someone out of Region B has tested the blu-ray? I have an PS4 (Brazilian) and I'm afraid about it, don't know if it will be recognized.

It is locked to region B. I can only play it on a PC when setting the Region of the software player to "B". Even "All Regions" doesn't work.

Just watched this. As others have said first half is much better than the second. Can't believe they followed him for the whole tour and that was the best footage they got. Some bizarre music choices as well.
Edit: I do make a cameo appearance in the end credits at Finsbury Park though. Great stuff.

Just gave this another re-watch
Would love to have seen more studio footage from the making of As You Were. The scene that shows the development from Liam playing ‘I’ve All I Need’ Acoustically to hearing it come together with a Band is my favourite part by far

More live footage would have been great too (Finsbury and so on).

A special edition/director's cut of it, with loads more studio footage (if it exists) would be amazing! All of that is fascinating to me.

The indifference of the general American public has reared its head again. The film has finally made it here, but living in Los Angeles and currently working in New York city, arguably, the two biggest cultural centers in this country As it Was is playing in all of ONE theatre in each city. To top that off, it's only playing at 11:00 AM and 11:00 PM in the New York theatre. I'm going to go see it one night this week.

For the Dutch members:
As It Was will be viewed in Melkweg cinema on 8th and 9th November.
My English friend bought me the DVD when it was released in UK, but I might go to watch it in the cinema as well.

To my fellow Aussie friends, AS IT WAS has just been released on Stan!
My opinion of this documentary hasn’t changed, it’s still brilliant I just wish they focused on the two big gigs instead of moaning about his voice. If they had swapped that out it would have been a near perfect film

Does anyone know what the instrumental song is that starts around the hour mark? Tried Shazam but no luck

Does anyone know what the instrumental song is that starts around the hour mark? Tried Shazam but no luck I’m pretty sure the instrumentals (maybe not all?) were composed by a lad called Tom Jenkins, cinematography music is his thing, his work is in a few big films.

I think As It Was is a good film and it's quite sad at times. But I'm so glad that everything has worked out so well for Liam now.

Is there any bonus footage/outtakes on the blu-ray? I have the bluray, off the top of my head theres a deleted scene with his mum and a "performance" of I Get By (studio track overdubbed ).
