Blue ray player showed up from amazon.uk today so finally got to watch this. I really enjoyed it, shows Liam in a very personable light but I was a little disappointed with the audio work. The filler songs were really random, mazzy star and Ava Maria?, but what really got me was how they cut to the album tracks every time instead of using live audio, at concerts, rehearsals, in a lot of the studio footage. Bummed me out. Since it’s a music doc I felt this was an opportunity lost

Also where the hell was Finsbury?! Just a few clips? Did I hallucinate the fact that it was supposed to be the crowning glory of the come back and the grand finale of the movie?? I feel like a lot of live footage was left out. Don’t know why. Was it not filmed well enough or Warner didn’t like the live sound?? They talk so much about Liam being the greatest RnR front man and he is but then they don’t show him vocally in action live 😡 they can’t have been so stupid to have only recorded the oasis songs.

I enjoyed it. I actually felt it went a little long. About 40 minutes in, it could have been done. There were certain moments they spent too long on, like concerts (the one concert I felt they needed to spend more on, the Manchester one, they cut short), whereas I wanted more of the process documented. I did like the scenes with his children though and the story of Bold.

I mean their relationship was irrelevant in him wanting to do a solo record. The next album after DOYS was always going to be a Noel solo album. Obviously what happened after meant the end of Oasis. But i kind of feel like Noel knew how to press those buttons he wanted to press enough and eventually it all imploded exactly how he wanted. I dont personally believe that their bust up in paris was all that much of big deal tbh. However if you are looking for a reason to get out then you are going to jump ship the moment something happens, no matter how bad it actually is because your kinda already wanting to go anyway. You are mentally checked out so just need the final nudge. Liam kicking off allowed Noel to act like he was forced out purely by his behaviour when he possibly was quite happy to leave anyway, I dont believe Noel still had grand plans for oasis at that point in time. As it went down, he could divert any annoyance by fans onto Liam. He practically threw everyone under the bus during that press conference whilst taking no responsibility himself. It was a case of "it was their fault, not mine". his solo career in the end by his way of putting things wasnt created out of choice but rather because he was left with no other choice. <iframe width="17.58000000000004" height="8.04000000000002" style="position: absolute; width: 17.58000000000004px; height: 8.04000000000002px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 15px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_40428630" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="17.58000000000004" height="8.04000000000002" style="position: absolute; width: 17.58px; height: 8.04px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 825px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_8831046" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="17.58000000000004" height="8.04000000000002" style="position: absolute; width: 17.58px; height: 8.04px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 338px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_72215936" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="17.58000000000004" height="8.04000000000002" style="position: absolute; width: 17.58px; height: 8.04px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 825px; top: 338px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_14127666" scrolling="no"></iframe> Noel seemed pretty disengaged during the promo for DOYS and the subsequent tour. I think mentally he’d already checked out, which was probably fair enough given that Oasis had achieved so much but were pretty much treading water by that stage.

Nothing seemed wrong in 2008, read back his blog during that time. He was still talking about 'the best singer of the world' in 2009 he became 'that other bloke'.

started watching, and so far it seems like its just another way to have a dig at noel. liams acting as if noel had no right to leave the band. like its a group decision?! im not assigning blame or fault to either or claiming one was in the right or one was a bigger pr!ck, i only mean if anyone wants to leave any band just 'because', surely thats their right? still alot to watch tho, so im sure itll move on from that...

I was away for 2 days and when I got home, the parcel from my friend in England was waiting for me. "As It Was" DVD and a new Q magazine with Liam on the cover.

Parts of it made me actually sad for the Oasis story and the two not seing each other for such a long time. Like this bit where Debbie says that Liam actually misses Noel and that's where all those rants are coming from... Of course it doesn't explain Liam or anything, but I think's true.

Ive said before though that its clear that Liam still cares about Noel etc because he keeps bringing him up. You don't talk about someone you dont care about. Plus his constant anger towards Noel is likely a result of him being hurt and missing Noel because thats why you tend to hate someone in this regard.....because they hurt you and no longer give you what you once had.
You can't really do much to solve emotional pain and therefore its frustrating. You naturally aim your frustration at the cause.
I don't think it helps Liam either that Noel is generally indifferent about Liam these days. He has digs at him here and there but generally Noel doesnt indulge in Liams jabs. Liam is basically asking for attention and Noel doesnt really give him any....again frustration.

I've heard Liam say "I love him really he's my brother" or something along those lines when doing an interview quite a few times, never hear Noel say anything like that.

I just mean Liam lets his guard down now and again and you see behind all the anger.

I've heard Liam say "I love him really he's my brother" or something along those lines when doing an interview quite a few times, never hear Noel say anything like that. The hatred seems to run deep from Noels side, I remember his wife even stating that she hoped Liam would drop dead which to me is really quite disgusting. If Noel still had any kind of real love or even like for liam I have my doubts that she wouldve said something quite so horrible if she was under the impression that Liam is still Noels brother and therefore respect their relationship as far as not saying something like that.
I don't care whats gone on in my family, if my wife outright said that she hoped they would drop dead, I wouldnt be pleased about it at all because I wouldnt want something so awful to happen to someone I care about, even if we don't get on all that well.
as Ive said in other threads, all I can assume is there is more to the story that we don't know about to justify that kind of talk. I don't believe Liam has said anything publicly that amounted to hoping that someone would die. I struggle to believe that is all boils back to oasis breaking up.
overall if the issues are between Noel and Liam then it should stay that way. I dont agree with this latest thing of all the family getting dragged into it or getting involved through social media.
If Liam and Noel cant fix their issues then maybe its just time to stop mentioning eachother and do their own thing. Its just getting worse and more vile.

I agree, but many still seem to find it funny. Latest is Noel fat shaming Liam, and I wish they would just shut up now, both of them (and the rest of the family with their instagram jibes). It's strange how no-one seems to care how it affects Peggy.

When can Americans watch this shit? I can't find any info on a US release. But one of my DVD players might be a Region 0, which could handle a UK Region 2 disc, will have to check that.

It's getting released in US alongside album, so tall be Sept. Seems a bit pointless to me as surely most people interested will have found a way to watch it anyway by the time the album comes out.
