Please respond to me directly, don't be passive aggressive. Yes, many elements of entertainment are shallow. Why do you think I'm wrong? lmao Dude, shut your uninformed ignorant ass up and get a fucking life. Later. Talk about shallow

You’re so accustomed to every celebrity in America being super liberal that the idea of Kanye even thinking twice about Donald Trump rubs you, and many other people, the wrong way. Chance the Rapper also just tweeted, “Black people don’t have to be democrats.” Are you ashamed of him too? Do you expect all black people to have the same mindset? Don’t you find the idea of that racist? I'm not a liberal or a democrat, I don't give a fuck about any of those centrists and I wouldn't want Kanye to be one, but at least they're not Donald Trump. At least they're not racist billionaire morons who surround themselves with climate-change-denying white supremacists and call African countries shitholes while failing to denounce murderous neo-nazis. The fact that Kanye is anywhere near that hat is a huge disappointment to me and most of his other fans not because it means he's not a fucking liberal, as if anyone but right-wingers care about those, but because it symbolises all of the ignorance and bigotry and division that Ye has always stood against. I'm hoping that Kanye is "just" loving Trump because Trump used his arrogance to do what everyone said he couldn't, which has basically been Kanye's artistic MO from day one. The difference being that Kanye is the most inflential creative mind of the century and Donald Trump is a conman. Ye's tweeted that he's not Republican or Democrat, which is good news, but still I'm bitterly disappointed that he's allowed that quite shallow comparison to negate the other, more meaningful things. At the end of the day it's Kanye and only time will tell. I have an allergy to the seemingly popular interptetation that just because you're dissapointed in someone's opinion, it suddenly means that you're against that persons(in this case Kanye West) right to free speech. Moronic.

I only asked why he's disappointed in Kanye.

What makes you think Hip Hop culture is shallow? Hip Hop, Rock (music in general), Hollywood, celebrity life, etc. it's all shallow. Do you not agree? Painting with some pretty broad strokes here, matey boy. Maybe you wanna try opening your mind more?

And Shakespeare wrote dick jokes and The Beatles sang about submarines. You don't judge art by the silly bits - you laugh at them, roll your eyes, and then listen to Family Business. So just ignore the parts you don't like and only judge someone on what you like? Don't you want a measured view on someone/something? Yes, and my measured view is that seeing as how Kanye has revolutionized his genre multiple times, created eight critically acclaimed yet incredibly varied albums - including perhaps the magnus opus of all hip-hop in My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy - and generally been the most important artistic and pop-cultural figure of the century so far...his occasional corny bars (more since Yeezus, I'll admit) don't suddenly make him shallow or meaningless, and even if it did that's not to speak of the ocean of amazing hip-hop artists working just right now. Let's not forget, you're arguing this because you're seemingly unable to distinguish between the connotations of a piece of apparel associated with a political figure/campaign and the physical piece of apparel itself.

It’s just a hat. If I were to wear that hat, that doesn’t mean I either fully agree with everything Donald Trump believes in. It’s like calling all Trump supporters racist hicks. That’s too easy and dismissive

Why would anyone listen to anything non music related this guy has to say? He’s a musician. He came into your life as a musician. All this is is a catalyst for people to start talking about him. Newsflash! The guys a moron. Why would this surprise anyone? People should spend more of their dragon energy on his music and less on any unrelated bullshit.

I'm not obsessed with the Gallaghers, I just like being on here. And you pointing out that Trump is only president because of his celebrity, only proves my point. Most people, regardless of political party, are engulfed in celebrity culture which I think has negative effects on them

It's not that Kanye's a celebrity, it's that he's an artist who's art has become part of millions of peoples lives, particularly in minorities or marginalised groups attracted by his unrelenting confidence, creativity, and - until now - principles. That's why him wearing that hat has caused a storm. If it was just another celeb like, y'know, one of the Kardashians, there'd be superficial controversy for ten minutes but no-one would really care. This from Kanye is just unsettling.

He's human, and has a mind of his own. He's always been superficial as well, so I don't know why you see him as some sort of modern day genius.

Because he is a modern day genius, in the same way Dylan or Bowie is. A visionary who has transcended his genre and defined pop culture in his era. Plus his relationship with materialism is one of the most interesting dichotomies in the mess of contradictions that is Yeezy. Check out All Falls Down: Man I promise, I'm so self conscious That's why you always see me with at least one of my watches Rollies and Pasha's done drove me crazy I can't even pronounce nothing, pass that versay-ze! Then I spent 400 bucks on this Just to be like "n*gga you ain't up on this!" And I can't even go to the grocery store Without some ones that's clean and a shirt with a team It seems we living the american dream But the people highest up got the lowest self esteem The prettiest people do the ugliest things For the road to riches and diamond rings We shine because they hate us, floss cause they degrade us We trying to buy back our 40 acres And for that paper, look how low we a'stoop Even if you in a Benz, you still a nigga in a coop/coupe.
We buy our way out of jail, but we can't buy freedom We'll buy a lot of clothes when we don't really need 'em Things we buy to cover up what's inside Cause they make us hate ourself and love they wealth That's why shorties hollering "where the ballas' at?" Drug dealer buy Jordans, crackhead buy crack And a white man get paid off of all of that But I ain't even gon' act holier than thou Cause fuck it, I went to Jacob with 25 thou Before I had a house and I'd do it again Cause I wanna be on 106 and Park pushing a Benz I wanna act ballerific like it's all terrific I got a couple past due bills, I won't get specific I got a problem with spending before I get it... We all self conscious I'm just the first to admit it.

But are you really a genius when you constantly contradict yourself? This is why worshiping people like Kanye will only be bad in the long run for people. They can't look at someone objectively

Haha, what the fuck is that bit of rapping at the end?
As a whiteboy from the mean streets of Bolton, Greater Manchester I'm sure I could improvise something better than that in one go.

Perhaps making a commentary on the direction rap has gone in recently i.e. Mumble rap- great production/beat, indescernible and shite lyrics. Or it's not that deep and he's really just taking the piss 😅
