But it has everything to do with political parties. Kanye is being shamed for being black and agreeing with someone conservative/republican. The bigotry of low expectations that non-conservatives (mainly liberals) have towards minorities is a much more common form of racism found today. You expect Kanye to think a certain way, because of his color. That’s racism. No, it isn't. It's not about parties. It's not about liberals or democrats or conservatives, no-one gives a fuck about those. It's about an artist who has made racially empowering art suddenly donning the symbols of racist bigot of a president who ran an entire campaign on bullshit and division and fear, seemingly betraying his integrity in the process. I know American right-wingers can and will twist anything in life into being about "liberals" and democrats as if they're some left-wing force intoxicating precious 'murican values, but you're arguing with yourself on this one. No, I'm arguing with you. I do understand that you're an Anarchist, so none of those things matter to you. But in reality, that's whats going on right now and those are the people involved. It's not about Republicans twisting anything into "Liberals suck", but those same liberals cannot handle a black man supporting a republican leader. It goes against their norm, because they expect black people to be democrats. Also, I think you're giving Kanye WAY too much credit.

Well, I'm a regular on Kanye and hip-hop subs and forums and I haven't read the words republican or conservative more than a handful of times in this whole storm. Facts are, this isn't about Ye being conservative, this is about him endorsing a racist. Here's the top comment from the stickied thread about this on r/kanye... "I don't have a problem with not being Democrat, I don't have a problem with being Republican, I don't even have a problem with liking some of Trump's stances but the MAGA hat has come to symbolise Trump's hatred and bigotry, and we live in a visual culture where iconic signifies carry power. If Kanye's gonna ignore that, fine. I ain't gonna see the world through his lenses because life and reality is different to me and he isn't swaying my opinion on any shit tbh."

You’re so accustomed to every celebrity in America being super liberal that the idea of Kanye even thinking twice about Donald Trump rubs you, and many other people, the wrong way. Chance the Rapper also just tweeted, “Black people don’t have to be democrats.” Are you ashamed of him too? Do you expect all black people to have the same mindset? Don’t you find the idea of that racist? I'm not a liberal or a democrat, I don't give a fuck about any of those centrists and I wouldn't want Kanye to be one, but at least they're not Donald Trump. At least they're not racist billionaire morons who surround themselves with climate-change-denying white supremacists and call African countries shitholes while failing to denounce murderous neo-nazis. The fact that Kanye is anywhere near that hat is a huge disappointment to me and most of his other fans not because it means he's not a fucking liberal, as if anyone but right-wingers care about those, but because it symbolises all of the ignorance and bigotry and division that Ye has always stood against. I'm hoping that Kanye is "just" loving Trump because Trump used his arrogance to do what everyone said he couldn't, which has basically been Kanye's artistic MO from day one. The difference being that Kanye is the most inflential creative mind of the century and Donald Trump is a conman. Ye's tweeted that he's not Republican or Democrat, which is good news, but still I'm bitterly disappointed that he's allowed that quite shallow comparison to negate the other, more meaningful things. At the end of the day it's Kanye and only time will tell. Haiti is in the Caribbean and El Salvador is in Central America but I guess black is all Africa to people like you.

"The New York Times reported Trump said during a meeting in June that people coming from Haiti "all have AIDS," that recent Nigerian immigrants would never "go back to their huts" in Africa"
- CNN But, yeah, sure, I'm the racist.

What makes you think Hip Hop culture is shallow? Hip Hop, Rock (music in general), Hollywood, celebrity life, etc. it's all shallow. Do you not agree? Penitentiary chances, the devil dances and eventually answers to the call of Autumn all of them fallen for the love of ballin' got caught with 30 rocks, the cop look like Alec Baldwin Inter century anthems based off inner city tantrums based off the way we was branded face it, Jerome get more time than Brandon and at the airport they check all through my bag and tell me that it's random but we stay winning, this week has been a bad massage I need a happy ending and a new beginning and a new fitted and some job opportunities that's lucrative
And is hip hop just a euphemism for a new religion? The soul music of the slaves that the youth is missing? But this is more than just my road to redemption Malcolm West had the whole nation standing at attention As long as I'm in Polo smiling, they think they got me But they would try to crack me if they ever see a black me I thought I chose a field where they couldn't sack me If a n*gga ain't shooting a jump shot running a track meet But this pimp is, at the top of mount Olympus Ready for the World's game, this is my Olympics.
Kanye's art was anything but shallow, and nor is the symbolism of a MAGA hat, which directly goes against the principles found in this and many other Kanye tracks.

What makes you think Hip Hop culture is shallow? Hip Hop, Rock (music in general), Hollywood, celebrity life, etc. it's all shallow. Do you not agree? Yeah, I guess there's no absolute scale for shallowness though, depends on how nihilistic a person's view of life is (which in itself is subjective I guess...) Taking the ones you've listed relative to each other though - Hollywood and celebrity life I would think are much more shallow than Hip Hop, Rock and music in general. There are facets of music that cross over into the Hollywood celebrity lifestyle, and I don't particularly care for that sort of stuff recently. However, there is a lot of music that is deeper than that, or at least it feels deeper to me in terms of impact. Then again, there are loads of people who centre their lives around following the Kardashians and all that sort of stuff, and what feels deep to them may not to me and vice versa -- no one's objectively correct on that. Hip Hop as an entire culture though is broad enough that labelling it shallow as a whole lacks meaning imo. Like it's not just the celebrity side of things as seen with Kanye, there's always some form of underground, multiple takes on what actually defines hip hop, the political influences that can surface to varying degrees, along with all the other stuff aside from the music that usually goes with any culture. Anyway, I think it's at least broad enough that most people can elicit some personal meaning from at least some part of it, so just felt that labelling the entire culture as shallow was a bit too broad of a statement to make.
