Confirmed facts: - James Ford will produce the album - There will be a b-side called Sandtrap where Miles Kane will be featuring - Part of the album its been recorded in Sheffield where the former bassist participated Rumours: - Alexandra Savior will be featuring backing vocals in some tracks - First single will be called Put Me In A Terror Pocket or at least it will be on the record - The single will be out in the final week of February - Sound influenced by Tame Impala,Iggy Pop,Alexandra Savior,The Last Shadow Puppets Some of these rumours are so obvious but well...the source was an NME article and the confirmed stuff was told by Miles Kane and pictures of the band. Have you got a link to the article which confirms the info you mentioned? I've read one article on NME (yeah I know!) which said they would not be re-visiting the old songs.

James Ford is an awful producer. There I said it.
That will be my only post in this topic, goodbye and thanks very much.

No. 1 party anthem is absolutely fantastic. Anyone who says otherwise is just plain wrong, no other way to say it.

Fireside is the only truly great track from AM. Suck it and See is their best work along with Humbug. I can't listen to their first 2 records as they sound too dated to me now.

I love all their albums. First two are the teenager monkeys. Humbug is darker & groovy. Suck it and see has a more rock sound, especially the b-sides from that era, those are maybe my fav monkeys songs. (blond o sonic shimmer trap, you and I, little illusion machine,...) AM is poppy, maybe a couple of fillers but the good ones are very very good:R U Mine, Do I Wanna Know, Fireside.
Really looking forward to their new album. I was a big fan of the last puppets album as well.

All their work is amazing and played a role in my life. The same with Oasis.
I get people not liking them, because there is a big difference between listening to their music and living their music.

Listened to Favourite Worst Nightmare yesterday, and I had almost forgotten how much I don't care about the second half of that album. The first six tracks are really good(except D Is For Dangerous), but apart from Old Yellow Bricks I don't think any of the remaining tracks are on that same level. None of the songs are bad, but they're just not as good as they could have been.

"Old Yellow Bricks" 12. "505"

Do Me A Favour,This House Is A Circus,If You Were There Beware,505... Come the fuck on,second half is brilliant Even love The Bad Thing, not as bad as the band or some fan's think it is. Love Do Me A Favour and The House is A Circus. That album is the Matt Helder's and Nick O' Malley show. The whole album is immense, shame it's kind of ignored by a lot of fans. Isn't beloved like Humbug by die hard fans or as massively heralded like their debut or AM. But FWN for me is probably them at their heaviest, some great b-sides as well especially The Bakery during the FWN era. Probably the best album to hear Matt Helder's amazing drumming on, the man's amazing and probably hasn't wigged out enough on later albums. Also my favourite gig of there's during the period They played Malahide Castle in Dublin, with support by The Coral and Supergrass. One of my favourite gigs ever. As for the 6th album. I think we should be expecting it sometime during the summer. Seen as they are doing a few festival's so I'm expecting a single out by April or May. It's been the band's longest break since they began, so hoping for a top notch release. But one thing must go, seen recent pics of Alex, get rid of the wispy beard and long hair, shocking stuff lol.

I despise that ‘song.’ Was my least favourite on Humbug when I first heard it and probably still is as I rate that album very highly, have warned to it since. But the amount of great B-Sides they released during that Humbug era, could have easily replaced it.

Best and worst track of each album:
WPSIATWIN: From The Ritz To The Rubble, Perhaps Vampires Is A Bit Strong But...
Favourite Worst Nightmare: Balaclava, If You Were There, Beware
Humbug: Cornerstone, Potion Approaching
Suck It And See: Black Treacle, Don't Sit Down Cause I've Moved Your Chair
AM: R U Mine?(by a landslide), Arabella/I Want It All/Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?/Snap Out Of It/I Wanna Be Yours(was hard to just pick one)

I was a huge Arctic Monkeys fan up until Humbug, I quite enjoyed Suck It And See but I didn't think much of AM at all. I am however definitely eager to hear what they have up their sleeves for album #6.
Its SURELY got to be a masterpiece given the size of Alex Turners ego nowadays and the fact we have been made to wait 5 years! Who'd have thought that at the time?!
Exciting times ahead and I definitely will be getting tickets for the tour.

It's the longest time off between albums for the band, seen as everyone but Alex in the band have become fathers it's to be expected. Also remember Alex did Last Shadow puppets second album and tour and Matt did the Iggy Pop album so it wasn't that much time off. So I can see why it's been 5 years as they did tour the hell out of AM too. I think the new album definitely needs to be top notch, as the last album did put them back on the map in terms of big album success and big singles and did get them a younger fanbase (out with the laddie fanbase in came teenage girls lol). Massively important the first single is a corker and not another Brick by Brick.
