I really don't see any difference in his character at all apart from the fact that he now has a family he cares a lot about.

I think what's jarring for some people, me included, is his reaction to people not being over the moon with "Holy Mountain" or the album in general. It's never a good look if you have to belittle people for what is simply a matter of taste aka parka-monkey-gate. He kind of turned against his own fan base and that is stupid and made him sound bitter. Some people will love it, some will like it, some will be left cold and some will hate it. Deal with it and record whatever you want, you can afford to!

Maybe, don't care. If I was into music for the popularity contest, I'd watch X-Factor.
Every time I see all of this sort of stuff on here, it's these words that get me through... (4:26)

Rather than say he's turned into a dick, I would say he seems to have isolated himself a bit more. He's always been a dick. ALWAYS. Remember the press conference full of lies? Right now, he's actively trying to get away from the Oasis thing and saying things that facilitate that process in the only way he knows how (by being a dick about it).

None of us can know whether he's really a dick or not, because none of us know him personally. I do find his public persona to be increasingly unlikeable though. He made the 'elder statesman of rock' thing his own for a decade or so, and it suited him well, but then he started talking bollocks about politics and other things, and throwing out lines that were, at times, entirely devoid of any wit, and so now I don't think he can get away with it quite the same.
Ahhhh well. As long as he keeps making good music, it's alright. Liam's entertaining and charismatic enough for the both of them.

I have to repeat an above poster here somewhat because I really don't get the point about his politics. Personally, I have never agreed with Noel's politics. Back in the 90s, he was probably most of the most famous and outspoken celebrities to endorse Tony Blair and even received a good amount of criticism from his peers and the rock press for going to that inauguration party. While he turned against Blair in the 2000s, he has pretty much maintained his political stance as an advocate for centrism and the status quo, speaking out in times of transition - like the mid-90s and in the last year.

It's better to shut up about things you're a bit ignorant about, which in Noel's case is politics. He's blurted out quite a few strange things over the past years. Oh well, guess it's not unusual to be out of touch with the common people when you're this rich and succesful.

What was wrong with the press conference in 2011? www.japantimes.co.jp/culture/2011/08/12/culture/andy-bell-glad-to-finally-bring-beady-eye-to-japan/With impeccable timing, our conversation takes place just two days after Noel has announced his forthcoming solo plans at a well attended if faintly self-congratulatory London press conference, during which he accused Liam of feigning laryngitis and making unreasonable demands on Oasis in relation to his clothing range Pretty Green, claiming it was the catalyst for the fatal argument. Did Bell see the conference? “Yeah, I did.” What did you think of it? “Bollocks,” he replies in a heartbeat. “He lied about a lot of things. The argument about Pretty Green was lies, what he said about V Festival and the fake laryngitis was lies …” He suddenly holds back. “I don’t know, maybe he’s convinced that’s the truth. I don’t know what goes on in his head. I know him, so I’m not disappointed. That’s what he’s like. I know how he spins the press. He’s used the press for years. Interviews and press are secondary for us, that’s his life.” There were sections of the press conference where Noel was hardly complimentary towards Bell. “That’s just Noel being Noel,” he says with an I’d-expect-nothing-less air. “All that sh-t … there were three of us in that room, and I’m telling you it was nothing to do with Pretty Green. I’m not going to add more fuel to the fire. But I’ve ended up in a band with Liam, Gem, Chris, with the same management, road crew…” Bell trails off, but then perks up. “But at the same time, I wish him all the best. I want him to be happy.”

Second, it's quite obvious that the problem was not whether the laryngitis was fake, but what facilitated its development... Seems to me that Noel, Liam and Andy twist and use the media equally as prolifically.

It was also mighty disengenous of him to call out Gem and Andy for not intervening. Gem and Andy were sidemen and had no business intervening in a Gallagher Bros argument.

Liam and Noel are both "Grade A" dicks. One cheats on his wife and partners, fathers kids he doesnt want to know and the other is so far up his own backside I'm surprised he ever sees daylight. In the real world you'd actively avoid both these vaginas.
