You always speak as if Liam was failing with his solo career, but no man, he is tremendoulsy succesfull. I can´t understand why you need constantly dig at Liam with every post. Is something personal? And for Noel, for me it´s not about trying something new, seek another direction or fulfill your curiosity as a musician(i´m 100% with that), it´s about writing great songs. And lately, FOR ME, he´s writing very mediocre songs, and it shows where he is good/great/godlike at. PD: Liam is not trying to be Oasis. Liam is Oasis Liam is not Oasis, Liam & Noel were Oasis. Liam would be working at Tesco if it wasn't for Noel's songs / Noel's background work. And where did i say he's failing ? Quote me on that. He's successful, but at what cost ? There was a time when both brothers in Oasis meant something for people, their music, their own way of doing things, not playing the mainstream record label game. Dont be fooled, Liam is doing marketed / box ticking rock n roll. It sounds nice, clean, but I prefered when he was trying with Beady Eye. At least that was something authentic. They did not try hard enough. So to me, only songs written only by Liam are worth something. the other songs are good, but it's just not the same. They could have been sung by Beyonce or whatever. The Liam we all knew and loved in the 90s does not exist anymore. Same for Noel, but at least Noel's not trying to pretend he's the same. Liam has become Las Vegas Liam. Put the boy in tight black leather and I'll book my flight to Vegas now.

While I agree on the marketing thing, I can't agree that Liam won't always be Liam. Of course, he's grown up a lot. But he's still one of the best frontmen around and when he walks on stage that aura is still there. Beady Eye was a dreadful move, really, for all involved. It was the timing more than anything else. People had had enough of Liam Gallagher in 2010. And in 2017, people needed him back - especially the younger generation that has now come through in that time growing up on Oasis music because there's no other band that has come close to capturing that spirit (bar, dare I say it, the Courteeners in recent years, but they're more like a cult than anything else now).

Theyre pretty outstanding compared to anyone else his age or above I've got on Spotify. Weller, Marr, Ian Brown, Noel. The list goes on. They don't come close. If you're comparing him to Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran then fine. But we need a bit of reality here. He's doing great. I also think you can't compare Noel and Liam music. Noel is really getting away from the oasis camp. Look at interview before Isle of Wight from last weekend on Youtube. He want something new and that is probably with new fans/audience. You can definetely compare his first 2 albums to Oasis, because they were basically Oasis songs with him singing. He went in the main, for that formula. Both musically and strategically. So its fair to compare all of those stats to Liam now. I agree if we're just going off the recent stuff then it's never gonna stack up because its becoming more and more niche.

Thanks for the info. I didn´t know Oasis had more members Liam is Oasis, Noel is Oasis. Liam would be working on Tesco and Noel would be a roadie for the rest of his life if the pair hadn´t worked together. So Liam can perform some Oasis songs on his gigs like Noel had been doing for ten years. And none of them is trying to be Oasis. They´re Oasis. IS it clear enough now?

I'm not gonna lie, almost got a little teary hearing Sail On for the first time... Please tell me you’re be facetious. There was some geezer back in 2011 on here who said he thought The Beat Goes On by Beady Eye is on the same level as the Masterplan. He was not joking. Don’t be like that guy. Behave.

Aye I'm hoping so too, but just playing it safe expecting another 6. We are also all assuming each EP is gonna have 2 remixes on it. Not every song lends itself to remixes. Noel said EP3 is very lad rock or some shit. I wouldn't expect a remix or two there but who knows. The AA have fucked Noel up since DOYS. Noel said the next EP is very “Manchester”. He then expanded to say it was Hacienda influenced. So likely to be more electronic than lad rock and so probably more remixes. X

A bit of a side note (because what you say in regards to the younger generation going to Liam is true in general) but the Malahide Noel gig on Sunday was by far the youngest crowd I have seen at an NG concert. Tramlines last year is more of a family festival so it was hard to judge, but the crowd at Malahide was definitely a lot younger than on the CY tour, for example. Fact is the Gallaghers are huge across multiple generations but Noel himself made a comment about how this year he's started noticing the crowd getting younger again. Your last point on WBTM is nonsense, but okay, fair do's if it's your opinion.

So i agree with you that it was better than the way he has to do things now. But not enough people wanted it. Fans want the music hes producing now. Make no mistake, for all the managers and promoters and even family around him, Liam is still the main reason this all works. Fans are here for his attitude, character and voice. He might slip into an OTT caricature of himself at times, but he's still as real as it gets and that's VERY rare in music now. People relate to that. Yes, hes having to do much more arse licking and playing the game than he or some of us would like - but everyone had the chance to back it when he was doing everything the real way and they didn't.

Good or bad they love a good Gallagher related story. On both releases the band were on all the major talk shows (UK and USA), were on the cover of all the major music publications, did all the big radio interview spots, did exclusive gigs on the radio, so how is that any different than solo Liam in 2017 and as seen currently? The difference is better material and using his established brand name over a lame band one with all his oasis mates. If the music is good people will respond. Simple as that.

Both brothers are now signed to Warner (which may or may not be why NG has upped his release schedule this year) so it is unfair to paint LG as the the one who has sold his sold to a corporate major whilst NG is still an indie puritan.
And let's not forget that before Oasis released a single record Creation had sold a majority of their shares to Sony Records!
They've both been part of mainstream music for years and the masses, rightly, love them

If Beady Eye came back today with the same two records, they would sell like As You Were or the one that's coming. It's all about timing. the music is no different, throw in any As You Were track in a playlist with Beady Eye tunes and you wont spot a difference. Oasis had perfect timing, Beady Eye did not. It's as simple as that. And he's understood that, he's even saying it in the promo film, sorry, "documentary". He's gonna go away after this one because most people will be done with him for a few years. You can play the game if in the end, the art is true. But Liam's art is not true nowadays. It's just an imagination of what Liam used to be or should be. It's well crafted, i give you that, but by someone who is thinking it all for him... If you're fine with it, good for you. I'm not.

I don´t know why, but it´s the way i´m feeling. I think songs are average at best, and i really dislike the sound and production of it. However, i´ve enjoyed this EP much more. Noel´s production is better, and i´m looking forward to the next Ep´s. I think he´s the best producer for himself...I hope he never work with Holmes again...

I respect your opinion but i can´t believe you´re being serious about quality of songs in Beady Eye and As You Were. I enjoyed a lot Beady Eye albums, but because they´re great musicians, they had great moments in some songs and Liam´s voice elevates everything. But many songs are average and look unfinished and there isn´t any true memorable song on their albums. That´s not the case of As You Were. Just only Wall of Glass is better than anything they put out.. And if you watch carefully the promo film, you´ll see what´s the real influence of Liam in As you were. If you think someone is thinking it all for him...well, you´re simply not telling the truth

Alot of AYW isnt better than the best Beady Eye songs. There's a case for the main singles and Bold/Greedy Soul being better but theres certainly not a world of difference in even them (certainly not the difference in sales). Liams name is a huge factor. Agreed. If it was as simple as the songs being good = success then I'd be alot happier with the state of music. It's not the case at all for me and marketing is absolutely key. You even seen with Wall Of Glass - The huge surge in sales and popularity come after he performed at a concert that was viewed by millions. Without that one bit of promotion it wouldn't have sold what it did and Liams campaign wouldn't have reached the heights. That proves in itself that theres alot more to it than you say.

With Liam, everyone was praise him. The difference: Second bite of the Apple & Wall of Glass I´m not saying Beadye Eye was a 0 and Liam is a 10. But Songs on As You Were are better, without a doubt Yes I'd say almost all the songs on As You Were had decent hooks, which hardly any Beady Eye tunes had. That said they were great live, and if they measured their success to other indie/rock bands at the time they were right up there. The problem is people and Liam especially were comparing it to Oasis which is a non-starter. Eventually they threw in Oasis songs which in my opinion was a mistake, as it only pissed Liam off that people were going nuts for two or three songs. They were neither a new band nor Oasis-minus-Noel. I know people dont agree with me about Beady Eye playing Oasis songs though. Slightly off topic, sorry.
