I really hope the album thing doesn't happen. None of these songs are worthy to follow Who Built the Moon. Good EP tracks, shouldn't be near an album.

I like the idea of 3 EPs, I just wish he would replace the remixes with songs, even if they are throwaways. And I'd rather all the songs (or 1 single then the other 4 a few weeks later) be dropped at the same time.

To paraphrase Noel, Pitchfork is one of those media-types that would give 10/10 to Thom Yorke for sh*tting in a hat. And yet they haven’t given Thom’s solo albums very high scores. 6.6 and 6.3. Atoms For Peace got a 6.9. His soundtrack got an 8.0. Hmmmmmm............ Conspiracy theory: maybe they don't want to encourage him to go solo because that could mean the end of Radiohead at some point, so they purposefully rate his solo output a tad lower than expected. Like Stones fans boycotting Jagger's solo albums in the '80s. |

It won’t be Christmas. He said the third EP comes out right before Christmas. A bundle of all the EPs is likely for that following March or April. We shall see. |

There have been more solo albums by Jonny and Phil than Thom. He’s not an issue. |

We all need to remember these are EPs, not an album, and judge them as such. Of course the songs are not the top most quality. Doesn’t make sense to complain when we have to wait 5 years for an album and then complain when we get something sooner because it’s not as finished or not the best of the best.
As far as what Noel says in an interview about writing all his songs in 15mins based off a Bowie riff from this day forward, it’s not a reflection of his laziness just a reflection of how full of bs he is. He says all kinds of shit in interviews that is meaningless just for a laugh.

I don't really see the issue with it tbh. Its pretty much expected that they will try and milk the material for all its worth and try to grab a few more sales with a bundle at the end of the process.
if you wanna wait until next year to get the bundle then you can do that. No-one is forcing you to buy now. You cant really say "well it will cost less" because thats only expected because by then the EP that is out now will likely be a year old by that point, its value would have dropped.
its basically like the game of the year games you get where it includes all the additional DLCs that they released separately. You can wait for that bundle to come out but its probably not going to happen very soon. Its just a case of trying to entice people who havnt bought it after all that time to finally buy it.
personally Im quite happy to wait for a bundle, I don't really feel the need to pick this EP up. The others will be dependent on their quality.

I’ll buy all on digital and then hope for a vinyl bundle with maybe some bonus artwork at the end. I’m not a collector of every bit and piece. So if it never comes out, that’s ok I won’t kick myself for not having individual eps

I`d rather get some EPs sooner than wait 5 years for an album, it`s good to know your idol keeps going, "takes care" of his audience, we`re not left thinking: "is he alive, what`s he up to" and so on. And when it comes to not the best tracks: he knows his music can`t be approved by everyone, maybe he`ll lose some fans, some of them will think: "it`s not the same Oasis-Noel, now he has sold out and treats us with that comic pop shit". I think he`s okay with that, he`s achieved a lot, he`s made a history of music and doesn`t have to worry about the more or less potential hate. All in all: he`s a fucking legend! |

People keep bitching. We are getting spoiled right now that Noel is dropping 9-11 new songs over this 6 month period. Think of the alternative. We get nothing. He’s taking an extended break next year per his most recent interviews. Enjoy this.
Also many of us might actually like these songs. I know I do. Keep it coming.

I agree but the problem is I think he was making some of the best songs hes made in years with the first two solo albums. Then he suddenly has this attack of conscience that he won't be looked at as an evolved artist unless he makes music obviously out his comfort zone. Nothing wrong with that if you "let the songs find you" as he so often says. Don't go forcing it like he is doing because its just ending up with good songs that he thinks are incredible. He's still capable of incredible and shouldn't waste time. I was listening to his isle of wight festival interview earlier and he seemingly said that black star dancing was was his most successful solo single (I dont know how that can be true) then went on to say something on the back that that amounted to questioning why he bothers to write music if he can just go in the studio, write a tune in 15 minutes and then get to headline a festival.
nothing in that interview made it sound like Noel has any interest in going back to writing like he used to and his general laziness will probably only reinforce that mindset.
he basically sounds like a gaming company that used to make great games but has realised that he can make the same if not more money by releasing the same game every year with a slightly different paint job without half the effort.
I dont disagree with that at all, and I think he will continue to go down that route. But he is by no means ignoring the reaction to the new stuff and I think he will put out more traditional songs soon to kind of reinforce the idea that he can do what he wants. |

BSD is his best in his opinion- that shows that he`s really into that new musical direction and I`m OK with that, he`s an artist, I wish him the best luck! |
