I got round to watching it. I liked it a lot. A nice insight into life in the studio with Noel. Although quite why the file sizes were so huge is beyond me. Feels quite amateurish. 13gb for a 25 minute video shot on a mobile phone -- I'm no expert but they could have easily compressed that into something smaller I think. Maybe Anais edited it herself and submitted the raw files or something. Definitely worth a watch though. Looking forward to parts 3 and 4. Yeah I think the “NFT” release was rushed and they didn’t spend the time compressing the raw files, they just smashed it out there. 🎥 First non-compressed thing Noel has ever done, tbh.

Got my Blood Records vinyl today. This thing sounds awesome. Dead quiet. Pretty Boy almost sounds differently mixed, or maybe my setup just does it some favours. It's not uncommon to get better dynamic range on a vinyl as opposed to digital downloads, but the difference seems to be even more pronounced this time. Vinyl rip: dr.loudness-war.info/album/view/200906Digital download: dr.loudness-war.info/album/view/200682My itchy trigger finger is diligently watching Discogs for that Blood Records variant.

Interesting. This makes me much more interested in getting the physical record. Would love to hear these tunes 'breathe' on some good speakers. But to have to give Amazon the 40 bucks because of the blue vinyl exclusive...ugh. Why can't I give it to my local indie shop, Noel?!?!?! For shame! #coloredvinylwh*** Sadly, my Discogs wantlist might as well by my Chrome home page at this point, ffs.

I love the string/orchestra usage on Council Skies. To be honest, I appreciate how both Gallagher solo projects have embraced strings/orchestras and Female backing vocals for that matter. If Oasis ever re-united I would hope these musical departures could be incorporated into their stuff.

Also, who would have thought those who brought you Rock n Roll Star, Columbia, and Bring it On Down would bring you film noir type songs like Moscow Rules and Dead to the World.

I like how they use the female backing vocals on their solo careers but I wouldn't like it for a Oasis reunion. I just don't feel it fits the sound of the band. I remember when Tears for Fears reunited and I watched a live performance on YouTube out of couriosity,I saw the backing singers doing most of the hard work and I thought it was a bit sad the band had to rely on them that much. I just don't want the same for Oasis, maybe when they're really old.

Vinyl rip of the acoustic version of Pretty Boy: Thanx Cool sound, still a shit song though. But way better than the final product. Let's hope both will be available in some other form sometimes in the future. the lyrics are just unfixable, but the music is there. a lot more in this version

FF always struck me as a singles band. I admit to liking a lot of their singles but if you listen to any of their albums after the great first one it all just kind of comes and goes in a middling, uninteresting, forgettable kind of way. They're like everyone's 20th favorite band and enjoy when they come on the radio, maybe they'll buy a gig ticket if they come to town but I wouldn't have thought many would rush to buy their new album. Does anyone know anyone who's favorite band is Foo Fighters? I've never met anyone, everyone likes them but nobody loves them as far as I can tell. I'm sure they exist but I'm surprised they're outperforming Noel this time. I know personally that I'll check out their singles at some point but I have no desire to listen to the album through because I know I'll get bored. Like I said I don't care about how Noel charts but I thought he'd win this one easily as I would have thought his fanbase is generally more enthusiastic and older therefore more likely to actually buy the album. I get why they'd outsell him in the US but in the UK I'd have thought he was much more popular. Why would Noel's fan base be older? Dave Grohl was in a world famous band when Noel was still on the dole, and then he made another world famous band while Oasis were hitting their stride in the mid 90s. Grohl and his band have a lot of fans stretching back 30 years and he can sell out basically any stadium in most countries. I think people underestimate just how big that band are worldwide. Noel as a solo artist never stood a chance of selling more albums than them.

Bob Dylan has only had 5 number 1 US albums. None of his 60’s work got there. The first was Planet Waves ffs. How many people talk about it? None. Another interesting fact, his son was in that band The Wallflowers and their biggest album has sold more than any Bob Dylan album in USA.

Familiar To Millions definitely didn't top the charts either. Where The City Meets The Sky was listed as an album (the UK Charts has no concept of an EP) and hit a high of 35, definitely his lowest charting “album”. The streak was for studio albums only, they’ve always discounted compilations, live and remix albums. He still holds the record for that streak, although I guess Harry Styles or Justin Bieber or some shit will overtake him eventually. 🥓

Sales don't matter, but Noel would be the first to post about getting another #1 if it happened.
Anyway, hopefully this ends his management's use of the delayed release strategy. It's one thing if it led to a #1 but once it stops working, it's time to move on.
For me personally, a surprise release of "Dead To The World" with an onslaught of press and the album out a week later would've been a much better move.

If Noel didn’t have 6 months of pre-sales you might be shocked with where Noel would debut on the charts and the sales numbers that go along with it. It was just a week of bad timing. It’s not the end of the world.

Good to see it's not dropped like a stone. I see the Foos has nearly dropped out of the top 10. Might be people just becoming aware of that it's actually out seen as the promo was a little lacklustre. Zero chat shows and no live performances on the TV until the album has already been released. Odd timing on a lot of things but maybe going through a divorce he didn't want Ross and co poking their nose in.
