This album really hits a sweet spot between Chasing Yesterday and Who Built the Moon, it may be his best solo album.

Easy Now Japanese bonus track, acoustic. Sounds like the album version with just the acoustic guitar and strings, the rest removed. What did we say about lazy ? Quite nice though, probably more than the album version. That's pretty much what he did with Dying Of The Light and If I Had A Gun too. That being said, it's much more enjoyable to listen to than the album version. It's also what he did for The Girl with X-Ray Eyes (Demo) and the acoustic The Man Who Built the Moon released on BTWWC.

Yes, maybe it's really his best album. The second half is just incredible!

Remember when Noel was giving us this instead for alternate versions. this could have been a solo NGHFB song, and damn good one.

Lazy maybe, but you get the countdown at the beginning as a bonus I really like this stripped version anyway. Anyone got a hold of the "Pretty Boy (Acoustic)" version? How is it? I haven't received my vinyl package yet...

It's different to every other album he's done, and that's what I really like about it. Obviously there's familiarity in there, and it's not a 'growth' of what was on Moon, but it stands alone as unique.

Is TOAN part 2 for TTFAETB&G?? They both end with that train sound I sense it's meant to be like an interlude to a still non-existing part 2.

I am going to give it a spin tomorrow. But the singles have not really given me something. I just heard a few snippets and the album tracks were far better or kinda spoke more to me. So I am curious but somehow I have a hard time getting into gallagher stuff since two years. Liams album was not my cup of tea either. So I hope that this one will grow although I really haven't listened to the singles again as I was really bored.

Lazy maybe, but you get the countdown at the beginning as a bonus hehe yeah, he literally went back to the studio to record those, as they sound completely different to the rest of the song. I heard it took him an afternoon to record them.

That intro to There She Blows! might be the coolest thing Noel has ever put out, even if he ripped off another song.

I'm bummed he didn't write the rest of Trying to Find a World... , it's a lovely snippet.

I'm bummed he didn't write the rest of Trying to Find a World... , it's a lovely snippet. The melody of the first line is soul-piercing. Agonising that it wasn't developed into a full song. But that gives it a beauty all the same, like a half-forgotten memory, which fits the atmosphere.

I really hope Noel keeps using strings. It elevates the music (imo).

As the strings are so dominant and defining on this album, I wonder who wrote all the parts?

I need Noel to stop using bells. He’s been overusing them lately and for the most part they’re distractingly saccharine and kitschy.

I maintain that every artist is allowed one use of bells in their entire career. After that, I don't care if you're the love child of Lennon and Bowie, you don't have the chops to pull it off successfully again. Noel is no exception.

Just got back from CD Cellar (Northern Virginia)...they had both CD versions & the vinyl. Interesting listen on the ride home, still working thru it. But...very happy that there was a physical store I could go to & buy the CD on release day. I've been buying Oasis/Noel new releases since 1997...takes me back.
So I'm curious where and how other folks bought physical copies today? I thought my purchase was reasonably priced... $18.99 for the deluxe at an indy shop. Don't froget, we paid that much for CDs back in the 90's!!
