I quite like it. Okay, it's not the best track I've heard from him but I'm glad he's not playing it safe and try to write the same stuff over and over again.
When he's releasing something new and the fans don't like it it reminds me of this Joe Strummer quote:
“Think of Noel Gallagher. He's got all the pressures in the world on him. Oasis have a certain sound. I often feel for him because he can't really veer off and do something really weird. He feels for the Oasis fans and they like their Oasis the way it is. In a way he's more boxed in because of his massive sales. He knows that he can't veer off.”

Why is it impossible to keep his name out of a Noel specific thread? And vis-a-versa honestly. Was a joke.

Yeah, imagine not changing as a human being in 25+ years, right? yeah that change is meant to be progression and improvement, not regression into a mediocre 80s dance track machine. Good luck with improving on Live Forever, Don't Look Back In Anger, Champagne Supernova, etc.

More like it was celebrated as new expression of the same fucking genius. reminds me of the sad song quote: "don't throw it all away"I'm sure he'll be back one day. Course he'll be back. But for now this is so bad I have listened once, and that is enough.

To tell you the truth I don't actually mind the song at all, it's got a nice vibe. If it had a decent chorus after the "We can ride" part it would elevate the song a lot, in it's current state though it's lacking something to me. Average.

It's clear Noel's fans are more open to change than Liam's, that's also why Oasis broke up. WBTM was well received, but tbh, that new song is a step back in terms of quality. The production is quite generic, the song is too, the singing isn't that great. It's a nice throwaway tune, but certainly not a lead single from a future album. Or at least i hope it's not. It would make a good filler on a disco record. Though i have my doubts Noel can pull off a whole record like that. He simply does not have the voice for it. It's like a lesser good What a Life.

Is the female vocalist Ysee? I've had it confirmed from Jess that it is Jess and Ysee

To all those having a meltdown about this song - focus on the fact it's part of an EP. Not a full length album. Therefore a) more music will be coming before too long and b) will likely be better than this. Because let's face it, if Noel thought this song was fookin' genius, he would have saved it for an album. Not a 3 track EP.

You could easily imagine The Turning being done in this style and it’s really working for me. I like it!
Do something weird, Noel. I’ve always got those classic songs to go back to when I want to hear them - nothing left to prove or do on that front.

We don’t know for sure it’s a stand-alone thing yet. X

The EP is probably just WBTM leftovers so I didn't have that high expectations to begin with. I certainly don't mind the song but I doubt I'll play it much. It did sound better than Holy Mountain though but that was my least favourite song from WBTM anyway.

Compare this to Future Love by Ride. Man. Both are modern but Ride amplified what made them great, but makes it modern. Noel sounds like a weakened version of himself.
Cue the folks who will say Ride won’t sell as much music etc. fine. That’s not the issue. The quality of Future Love is far far better

Rolling Stone: “ “Little by Little,” is the kind of earnest “Wind Beneath My Wings” crap even Bryan Adams would know to edit.” X

It did sound better than Holy Mountain though but that was my least favourite song from WBTM anyway. We dont know that. the production feels way different than WBTM which was very sharp and smart. This sound vastly different. I would say it's not part of Holmes produced songs. Could be wrong but that does not fit, or Noel worked on very rough takes that Holmes did not finish.

is this dad dance a phase? like a mid life crisis? will someone let me know when it's over and he goes back to writing good music? if you want to change your style and do something groovy make it sound modern and fresh, not 80's trash! ffs I hate the 80s, worst decade in music by far

Great tune. About time the sound changed, hopefully many more to come like this and even more daring.

yeah that change is meant to be progression and improvement, not regression into a mediocre 80s dance track machine. Good luck with improving on Live Forever, Don't Look Back In Anger, Champagne Supernova, etc. True, those songs can't be beaten, but those specific songs were HUGE due to a lot of factors besides Noel's songwriting. - Liam's voice - The mood of the UK - The fact the Oasis sound was still NEW. Noel doesn't have those 3 factors anymore so even with improved songwriting, his new songs could never be as BIG as the old classics. Between Be Here Now and Chasing Yesterday, you can count many new highlight moments where Noel has been progressing his lyrics, his vocal delivery, his melodies and his live musical arrangements (especially acoustic sets). But since around 2014/2015 I can't see any meaningful progression or highlight in the The Man Who Built The Moon or this new single - with the exception of "Dead In The Water"
