The IIHAG demo is better than the studio version. And it was the Italian journalist who started hyping the song.
It's all a matter of taste, i rarely listen to live stuff, especially the Gallaghers. i'm a studio geek. If i had a gun is not the best example i gotta say, it's not that great in either form to me. + demos are studio versions right, just a bit raw IIHAG is one of the most overrated and over hyped song in Gallagher Bros history. Its an ok song with ok production. Nothing more. Nothing less. Glad it wasn't his debut single.

If i had a gun could have been saved with a good solo somewhere, It's very repetitive and the structure of the song is kinda weird. Too much chorus repetition. Cant really understand what Noel was thinking there.

what fans? nobody has heard it. Once the album get released and casual fans hear it. Fuck sake, people on here just can't wait to pounce on anything. Why do you think a song that is over five minutes long and is just Noel's voice accompanied by an acoustic guitar would be a favourite amongst casual fans? From my experience, casual fans want big choruses and electric guitar parts.

If this is indeed the great song he's hyped, then it would be idiotic not to record a studio version of it. I remain skeptical.

From that poorly recorded snippet, it sounds quite good. I'm hearing a mix of Lightning Crashes by Live, Just Getting Older and a bit of If I Had A Gun

Sounded a bit drab to me, to be honest. Wait for the full thing, of course.
The other tune, though - whoa!

Where is everyone hearing this one? no one has heard it, it's just a 15 second snippet, that everyone is mentally excited about.

I think the same thing now as when Noel first started playing the songs live. I bet these tunes will be a mixed bag live, they won't all work. But fuck me, is this going to be a belter of an album. Based on the full tunes and various snippets I think it's going to be quite an experience listening to this album as a whole.

That snippet was absolute magic. But let's try to keep the hype at a reasonable level! It was only like 10 secs !
