I have been on this forum for as long as it has existed just didn't post. Hell, been on Oasis forums for as long as they have existed really. This is truly an interesting moment as the theory that Liam was somehow the lucky one is debunked once and for all. So you have been quiet for 10 years waiting for your moment to punish the evil Noel fans !! That requires a lot of patience and a fair amount of psychopathy More like I have been waiting about 20 years for a solo Liam album and it reignited my zest a bit, really. Always knew he had it in him and that it come out so well really pleases me. Messing with the NG cult is just a bit of a cherry on top, really. I am actually - obviously - a huge fan of Noel's songwriting but the time has come to knock him down a notch. Got birds playing scissors like something Yoko may do, another bird as a more talented Linda McCartney, and he has to lose those damn sunglasses.

She does it on everything she sings on, granted Noel could've told her not to but he's not came in one day and said to her "play the scissors". It's a stupid thing to bash Noel about,im sure theres better things to.

Or a lot of other long time Oasis fans.

Anyways... This sounds quite good live, where I found STMHTF slightly flat. I think it will transalte well to the album version.
And once again, this song seemingly affirms the notion that the album will be best enjoyed as a total experience, rather than just for one off songs. Which is a good thing I'd say.
I really like both NGHFB and CY, but I find I'll listen to them once or twice all the way through, and the be bored to the point where I'll start cherry picking songs (On Cy its always Riverman, TRS, WTSRTS, TBOTMI) then eventually shelve the album for months.
As of now, none of the songs standout as top tunes for me, but it is still early. And that may end up being the case for the entire album, we will see. But I won't care if we have an excellent flow and great listening experience throughout.

I've actually never made very many comments about any of the music from either Líam or Noël's music.....I do prefer Noël's music to Líam's efforts, though. Noël's music's good, but not great....it's not 90's Oasis great. I don't read or watch the interviews, I buy the albums and listen to them, and rarely comment on them in detail.... I don't get into Líam vs. Noël, I'm not 12. I did watch the Supersonic documentary and Líam was portrayed in much better light than Noël. I can tell Noël can be a dick, oh well....doesn't effect my life. Thanks. You've made 22,000 in a decade and haven't talked about the music much on a band that makes music forum? I have been watching this forum for a long while and you come across as one of the biggest Noel Fanboys on here. No shame, really, as the man has written some awesome music. Shame that this album appears to be his Waterloo. Forgot to mention, I also come here to play the Live4ever trivia..... my.funtrivia.com/private/main.cfm?tid=53853I encourage everyone to play.... Thanks.

I can’t hear any of the U2 comparisons that people have noted especially “Beautiful day”
The U2 i hear is the verses from Vertigo, the “as the boys play rock n roll” sounds extremely similar to the verse “when it’s gone you know it’s gone ” from IABW...

I come here for almost everything else besides Oasis-related stuff...... the other music section, sports section, just to say goofy shit, post cat pics, etc... Can't really see how I come off as a huge Noël fan, again, rarely comment on the music.....might be your perception, or what you wanna see, I don't know.....make me the bad guy or enemy, I guess, don't care. Thanks. Wait... there's an other music section here??

Where's that Calm Down Noel Meme when we need it? There's no malicious in 'Scissor Girl', if anything that's taking the piss out of Noel. Look, I don't know the guitarist's name, so I refer to him by the instrument he plays - the guitar. It's not my fault she's on the scissors! And, for good measure, caro . I am not offended by "scissor-girl". A non-female would be the "scissor-guy" "scissor-man", wouldn't he?

I have a feeling she is going to win a lot of fans over (particularly males) - even the ones who don't like Noel's new stuff.

Do you know what, that's the best so far, didn't really like it that much first listen but it does have something and at least goes somewhere. Very U2 but better as I can't stand them.
Two smaller issues, scissor woman is annoying and on the megaphone is like finger nails down glass

Another good song from Noel! And yes, you CAN hear the scissors quite clearly on headphones especially! Don't know what all the negativity about Noel's voice in the chorus is about, I thought he sung this the best out of all the songs on the programme. The performance of STMHTF was a bit ropey all round, but this was great!
I absolutely love the guitars throughout the song but especially in the verse, very Johnny Marr influenced. Won't be the same on the record of course, but sounds like a great live version of the very different sounding album track from the snippet we've heard so far.
Melancholic but hopeful. Effort gone into the lyrics, much more like it!!
And even though the French speakers on this forum feel the French interlude was cringe worthy, the translation is great! Love the message.

I still think it sounds a bit uninspired but it’s better than the other tracks.
I don’t know how many if you work in a creative field but if someone directed you saying “create a piece of work like *insert name*” or a certain style, if you’re good at your craft then you could probably do a decent approximation but it would be pretty uninspired because you’re working to an instruction not on inspiration.
That’s how all these songs sound to me.

This is my favourite out of the new songs. Not better then BOTMI though. Hoping this will be one of those albums you can only appreciate as a whole.

That’s how all these songs sound to me. Totally agree. That's the problem with writing in the studio. It's plan over inspiration. That's why some people are put off by these songs. The melodies are unlike Noel past work, because the instrumentation has been (i believe, we'll hear the record), put above the melody. The result being that you get generic melodies, that revolve more around rhythm than notes, with short lines (stop and go like "the one i love...stop... nanana" or "do you like dance...stop... nanana") during the verses. In that sense, Beautiful world and the One i Love are quite similar. I quite like HM and FK, but the other two i'm not convinced so far. Which is new for Gallagher tunes, because in the past, even by just hearing a live version, there was 90% of the tune right there. Here, we only get 50%, so the studio versions are gonna be crucial. I believe that is where most of the work has been done, and also why there is only (likely) 8 sung songs. I dont believe a songwriter can totally change his way of writing. Noel mostly wrote his best songs in 5 minutes, they come from nowhere, like they are given to them. Not to say i've written good songs, but usually, the best melodies are coming like that, in an instant. Like they are floating around and you just grab them. So far, we've had some melodies, but melodies that clearly sound from "in the studio" rather than "in Noel's bedroom".
