Wa-la-la? Makes it sound like a work in progress. Could grow though. Pretty sure he's singing "The One I Love" not "Wa-la-la"

sounds like a generic song from the 80s I still have hopes there are more stuff like Fort Knox and less like this and HM in the album I would like the opposite: FK is a good song and will be a great album and gig opener. But there are many people doing that type of music and some of them are probably better than Noel at it (some of David Holmes output to start with). In turn, in HM and STHTF you have the type of ellaborate songs based on strong melodies Noel excels at. The sound and arrangements are different and probably the structure of some songs will be a bit different because of the way they have been written, but Noel's essence is intact in them

It's really sad knowing the Oasis fanbase includes more than a few specimens like this one.
I think you need to acquire a sense of humor. That was pretty funny. As for the song, it is utterly dreadful.

After a few listens I’ve warmed to it. Very “New York” feel to it (Santigold, Strokes, Blondie). I hope, though, that lyrically we’re gonna get a break from his adoration of Sara on this album. At the minute it feels like I’m sat on a train next to a couple who are kissing so loudly I wanna put me headphones in. Noel singing repeatedly "the one I love" makes me think Noel did something bad and is now trying to convince her she's the one he loves. Being a bit more subtle works better in love songs.

It seems massively obvious to me that Noel has told that oddball to 'play the scissors' just to wind Liam and his devotees up.
I'm very much neutral in the LG v NG 'war' but Noel blatantly appears to be playing up to the current school of thought that he's lost it here.
That said, after the performance someone should have taken him to West One's McDonalds drive-thru for a large quarter pounder meal or something. I'm amazed that he could hold the weight of the guitar last night.

That is alarming as you would think he would highlighting his better material at this time. This album is going to be atrocious it seems.

I don't want to spend too much time discussing the ramblings of yet another keyboard warrior, but can you explain the comedy behind a sentence like "now a pair of scissors which would be better spent on the silly bint playing them"? I could chuckle at the guy's sheer stupidity, I'll give you that, but at the same time it's worrying that a person would go out of his way to write something like that.

Although the lyrics are generic, I really do like the “put your money where your mouth is” part, especially the chords and melody at that part. I love songs with chord sequences like that, always sounds a bit melancholic which Noel is great at.

If Liam had released either of this songs that Noel has put out he'd be the laughing stock of the music world. Let alone having some crazy bird playing scissors. Keep making excuses for him but if too many of you do you will be subjecting yourselves to piss poor output like this for years to come. If some up and coming band released this songs would you be praising them? Highly doubtful.

I wanted Noel to change the Oasis set lists up from about 2000 onwards and am a big fan of the AA remixes of previous tracks but HM and STMHTF are just terrible (quite like FN as an opener)- any other artist/singer released them and they'd be slated. Genuinely I think he's having a mid life crisis, wearing sunglasses inside for everything, skinny jeans, dad dancing.
Interestingly he had it all his own way from 2009 to 2017 as Beady Eye weren't a threat to him, Liam has released an album which has sold well, he's sold out a huge outdoor gig while Noel is struggling to sell out arenas. Another 12 months of this and it'll be Noel begging for the Oasis reunion which is what Liam said would happen.

It's like having hype injected into your veins.

Poor Gem and Chris picked the wrong brother to support yet again. That is, if we're to believe the negative fan reaction will affect Noel's sales such as the prick in the clip.
Anyways, I really like the way that girl scissors.

You can hear in the clip that the album version of the verses is much more layered and hypnotic, and I bet it's the same for the chorus and solo. If you'd have judged Wall of Glass off it's debut at The Ritz, you'd think that was a mediocre rocker with no chorus, but on the album...

All of the songs released so far have been very......repetitive. I was expecting more from this one. That said Holy Mountain is still the best track I've heard so far even though I really don't care for it much either.

I like this track and I would if it were the fucking Pope writing it. I'm not a fan of four Oasis albums, one of which Noel Gallagher wrote entirely by himself. Accept that other people are going to have different opinions about music. You don't like the new songs? Fine. I sat through Oasis Mk II in dismay, but you didn't see me telling people on the forum that they're making excuses for the band. Now it's my turn to enjoy the new stuff.
As for the scissors: if you think someone playing scissors on a song is going to put me off of anything, you should see some of the stuff I have in my record collection. On the contrary, I think it's fucking cool. And you obviously didn't address my point on your reply.

Liam/Noel haven’t had anything anything whacky or out they’re since the Be Here Now stage layout so it’s cool to see more quirkiness from one of them

The versus definitely don't sound as good live as they did in that preview clip. I really love the chorus on this song. It's like pre-oasis Noel with a matured structure and stronger sense for melody. Sounds very raw and young. That's probably what he was aiming for.
And I still find myself singing along 'one I love' anyway.
Quite pleased with this one. For me that's two knockouts in a row.

Yep I really like Fort Knox, but even that along with the others goes on for too long for what it is. Mr Holmes could have done with allowing Noel to do a bit more homework to spend time just adding a little extra to each of the three songs so far at his own pace.
