I'm liking the positive, upbeat tone so far from the 3 songs we've heard now from the album. I hope the whole album is full of them, with no hint of a downbeat track. I am not a fan of Noel doing sad, depressing melancholy stuff. I much prefer happy Noel music. This could be his most positive sounding album since...... no prizes for guessing which album I am going to say. Tbf, even Be Here Now has Magic Pie, Stand By Me and Don't Go Away on it I know they're nowhere near the most melancholy music Noel's ever put out, but imo any album needs a mix of uppers and downers so they complement each other. Like I think that the track Be Here Now sounds a lot more euphoric coming in off of Don't Go Away than it would off another positive track like DYKWIM, MBM or IHITIK

I don't want to spend too much time discussing the ramblings of yet another keyboard warrior, but can you explain the comedy behind a sentence like "now a pair of scissors which would be better spent on the silly bint playing them"? I could chuckle at the guy's sheer stupidity, I'll give you that, but at the same time it's worrying that a person would go out of his way to write something like that.
If Liam had released either of this songs that Noel has put out he'd be the laughing stock of the music world. Let alone having some crazy bird playing scissors. Keep making excuses for him but if too many of you do you will be subjecting yourselves to piss poor output like this for years to come. If some up and coming band released this songs would you be praising them? Highly doubtful. That's quite an assumption you're making there mate. What really bothers me, is some people not just saying they don't like Noel's new stuff, but also feel an urge to bring up a comparison to Liam, as if they been offended for years on Liams behalf and finally feel justified to give Noel some stick. As to your theory; one of my favourite tracks off Liams album is It Doenst Have To Be This Way which in many ways resembles She Taught Me How To Fly, so already here your theory is flawed. IF an upcoming band released this I might feel different about it. But it ISNT an upcoming band, it's an established artist, of whom I've been a fan of for 23 years, so it may have influenced my opinion, that's a no brainer. It's the equivalent of saying I only like Mars bars because they're chocolate. Well... Yes.... That's exactly why I like Mars bars. If I had no idea who Liam or Noel were, I'd probably never know these two albums exist.

It's a really nice song, a bit repetitive as regards the lyrics, but I don't know why Noel sounds he's having a ministroke or something, especially when he tries to reach the higher notes. This is more evident when he sings Holy Mountain. I guess this has to do with him losing too much weight. He doesn't look very healthy tbh Age too. He's 50 and i think he's done quite well to preserve his voice, then again he hasn't always been a lead singer but he has been for the past 7 years or so, it will take it's toll at some point, especially at 50. His range will be going a bit. Heard Richard Ashcroft's live recently? shot to bits.

Am I the only one enjoying stuff like the scissors? Yoko knitting blindfolded didn't exactly help Instant Karma's melody, but it helped make the performance memorable. This is along the same lines. The scissors thing would've worked had the rest of the band dressed up a bit. Just her on her own looking weird whilst everyone else is in t-shirt and jeans just looks bad. What?

Poor Gem and Chris picked the wrong brother to support yet again. That is, if we're to believe the negative fan reaction will affect Noel's sales such as the prick in the clip. Anyways, I really like the way that girl scissors.

Right first off I love Noel and get he wants to try to be a bit different and after writing the soundtrack to my youth and life since I can let him off......unfortunately Liam just dropped the soundtrack to my now!!! Back to 'She taught....' its pretty dire for me and like the 'she bangs..' of HM I cringed at the 'put your money where your mouth is' seriously bringing back memories of an unfinished sounding song with shite lyrics is not great on an unfinished sounding song with shite lyrics Fort Knox is interesting although a little bit back ground music / intro ....the rest is as bad as Mr Noel Gallagher has ever spat out

Wa-la-la? Makes it sound like a work in progress. Could grow though. Pretty sure he's singing "The One I Love" not "Wa-la-la" Yeah, I misheard that one big-time.

I'm kinda surprised this is gonna have a runtime of five minutes on the record. This performance they've done, coming in at just over four minutes, felt like it overstayed its welcome a bit, for me.
Hopefully that means there's a really tricksy instrumental bit or something on the record that they weren't able to work out live.

What I find funny is the fact that for a while you must have thought that Noel so couldn't be arsed to write any lyrics to the extent that he was just making sounds and thought "yeah that'll do!" WALALAAAAAAAAAAA Sounds like something my 6 year old niece would shout into a microphone for the first in the excitement of hearing her own voice being amplified!

It has a good melody IMO.
Yet again though, who is Noel kidding with this new sound? Yet again its a very noel by numbers song and dont tell me because he uses some new instruments that its any different. DOYS had sitars ffs.
Could have easily been on either HFB albums before. Not that this is a bad thing, just sick of being told to expect a new direction and get his usual verses and melodies. BOTMI was more a new direction than any of this so far.
The worst thing to come out of this will be if everything flops and he thinks he cant experiment again. Actually go in with ideas to the studio and we might get a better product? Just a guess.

Melodically, it reminds me a bit of The Good Rebel. Let's wait for the studio version though, but the songwriting is classic NG and not the one at his best...

Second listen : too 80s and U2 esque for me and it seems it will be the same on the record.
I can see why people like it, but i'm not really into that kinda music. I dont hate it, but meh, 80s sound is kinda shitty.

OK I was all onboard with the new sound, took the time to get used to Holy Mountain, I liked Fort Knox and I'm waiting for the studio version of She Taught Me How To Fly to judge it.
But fucking scissors?! What the actual fuck Noel? Scissors... come the fuck on, that's just ridiculous!
2017 Noel needs to have a chat with 2002 Noel who was slamming the use of a Hoover. The hoover looks a lot less stupid than those bloody child scissors...
Scissors...
