Yet I feel this will be his strongest - both critically and commercially. As for HM, we all know now how this has polarized the fans on here. Some hate it, but other are absolutely loving it, hailing it as the best thing he has done in years. One thing is for sure. This new album won't receive a lukewarm reception. This will be Marmite, through and through. I can put this to rest. 'Holy Mountain' is NOT the best thing he's done in years and that's a fact. That's not an opinion, it's a fact. Anyone with ears, a brain and bit of honesty knows that. It's just your ever-so-humble opinion mate, nothing more....and not a very good opinion at that. Whereas I can boldly say HM is the best thing he has done in years, and that IS an absolute fact! Get used to it....

I can see why people like it but a 9 is way to high. Live Forever maybe but not this. Well I did read on here Holy Mountain was better than Supersonic... Abso-fucking-lutely! That will be me.

Even though I'm liking 'Fort Knox' a lot I think it shouldn't of been released. It doesn't work on it's own. One look on Twitter proves that and 'Holy Mountain' is Noel's least successful lead single ever and deservedly so. I feel this album will definitely be Noel's weakest. I’m not sure it’ll be a commercial success. It could be brilliant - it’s off to a strong start - but I’m not sure about how much commercial pull it’ll have at this point.

i defended holy mountain, i thought it was loads of fun, very catchy, a real grower, but this? i get that its instrumental and a gig opener but as a single its very disappointing, starts out great but goes nowhere, should never have been a single
4/10 for me, its a shame i was really looking forward to this after holy mountain

Some may start crying and get very upset if you think HM is better.

It's alright! But......who thought having the school/fire bell ringing LOUD through half of it was a good idea?? This record, so far, is mixed in a weird way. There's simply too much being done at the mixing stage, so it's feeling somewhat false... I take it each song is gonna fade into the other? because both Fort Knox and Holy Mountain end really abruptly in their single track versions.
I applaud Noel for doing a record like this but the mix, so far, is messing it up.

Biblical, for an instrumental #1 track it's amazing, FITB feelings. 8/10.

Personally I love the alarm clocks. People need to stop bitching, and just set Fort Knox as their phone alarm. Problem sorted, innit.

I could say that you are both wrong(not the best not the worst) and that's a nice change of pace for Noel that has some debatable lyrics but it's all about the groove baby!🎺🎷📯

So you're trying to tell me that 'Holy Mountain' is better than "Falling Down" "Riverman" "Alone On The Rope" "Everybody's On The Run" "The Death Of You And Me" to name but a few? Are you an actual mental patient? Dream On mate.... even that's better than it!

Have you seeked professional help lately, because it sounds like you need it more than me.... And yes, Just to spell it out again in case you didn't get it first time round, HM pisses all over every single NG has released since AATW back in 1997, which was his last great single for me. And its also better than most of the tracks off his previous 2 solo albums. It also pisses all over everything from SOTSOG, HC, DBTT and DOYS. No doubt you will be in a state of shock now...

I just don't believe you are being honest with yourself a I'll never believe you do save your response. You're only kidding yourself and no one else. You're in denial. Simples. I'm just laughing man and I don't go out of my way to get into silly little arguments with people on a forum but I just couldn't help pointing out a ludicrous statement like that. But anyway, best of luck with it.

I have to ask you, with all sincerity - are you a mental patient?

I know its all about opinion but wow. Holy mountain better than go let it out? Roflcopter Let me spell this out to some of you who are having some difficulty understanding people have different tastes to you on a forum - I think HM is the best thing NG has done in YEARS! Yes, that means I prefer it to much of his solo stuff. It also means I prefer it to EVERYTHING released during the Oasis Mk2 era (which I am not a fan of), and I also prefer it to much of the stuff from DM and WTS too. That is how high I am rating it. I even rate it higher than (shock, horror!) SUPERSONIC! So how can I make such a ludicrous statement as this, you may well ask. Because I've always been a sucker for upbeat, poppy, fast tunes from Noel, coupled with loud, OTT, overlay mixes, which is why I rate BHN so highly, and why it is my favourite album. To me, both FK and HM sound far closer to BHN than anything else Noel has done since 1997. I suggest some of you take a breather after reading this, because you are probably in a state of shock right now....

Liking the song is one thing but declaring it better than everything he's put out this side of the millennium? Hahahahaha! I'm done with this conversation.

The fact that your first thought about me was `mental patient' maybe reveals more about you than it should do...?
