Still don't like HM, but this is a belter. I have a feeling that Beautiful World is going to be my favourite Noel song post-Oasis.
So excited for the album, but HM was a bit of a downer.
I'm curious to know what happened to "Don't Stop The Happening" he'd perviously said it would be on this album, obviously he went in a different direction, but I was looking forward to that song!

I really like this after a few listens. The initial Hey Heys reminded me at first of blurred lines by Robin Thicke. If it wasn’t the opener I don’t know how often I’d listen to it though. If it was a bonus track I doubt I’d play it on its own often. Don’t think having HM directly after it on the album makes much sense to me. Musically they couldn’t be any further apart. Makes HM seem even more outdated than I thought it did before

People are giving this a 10? It's a five at best.

People are giving this a 10? It's a five at best. For the context of Noel's career, it's really not far off. I think it's a clear nine.

Context of modern day music, it's a 9 I think it's better than a lot of stuff on the first two albums. Shakermaker, Digsy's Dinner, Married With Children, Roll With It, Hey Now, The Swamp Song, etc... And you can hear the influences of lots of modern music in it (thank God!), and it even improves on a lot of it's influences, something Noel hasn't done in a long time. Amazing piece of music.

Songs like Live Forever are why I don't give it a 10. This is just right up my street, for me it's a 9 and possibly my favourite bit of post-Oasis music.

Alright, I typically don't change my score, but this morning I woke up and listened for the second time on youtube. It's a really banging tune.
I upped my score from a 7 to an 8.

My ears literally hurt after having listened to it. 2/10 It is a bit of a noise and not really a pleasant one, I went 3/10 and don't think it will grow as its doesn't really contain any content, just background atmospheric music and not many lyrics

Been a long time since I posted here.
But I wasn't a fan through 1 listen. Not liking the feel.

Never listen to your wife man. Next thing you know it will be Little Mix have melody! #kidding If only Noel would've listened to that advice tbh

8/10. Not adjusted for hype inflation. Still hanging on in there at 8. Hesitant to give anything a 9 or a 10 after just a day, would have to be a track that has a big impact on my life, which needs time anyway. So 8's the most I could realistically give any day old track Not keen on repeating what has already been said*, so.... : 1) It sounds shit listening to it with only one earbud in (particularly if it's the left one that's out) or in mono. If you are in this scenario, avoid till no longer in this scenario. 2) It sounds amazing after vodka. That is all. *(it gets to a point where the same people are just saying the same things again and again and again just with varying tones of enthusiasm/indifference/superiority/aloofness/etc...,which gets boring imo but then I'm a hypocrite)

Still liking it, but the bell is just one thing too many added for no real benefit. So much great other stuff in it though.

As someone who thought everything about HM was absolute garbage (including that ridiculous video) I gotta say that FK has kind of restored my faith on this album.
I like pretty much everything about this song, and the video is great as well. Gotta say though that the doorbell does get tiring towards the end tbh.
Also not sure about releasing it as a single, good album opener though.

It must be an art to know when to stop adding layers. I guess it's always been a weakness of Noel's back to DM and BHN days. I took out my earphones to answer the door earlier and could still hear the bell on the song like a drill. I'm not sure what purpose Noel and Holmes thought it had when putting it on.

You know I've just realized how bonkers this song is! If you'd told me three years ago that a Noel album would open with an instrumental featuring string loops, a hip-hop drum beat, psychedelic female backing vocals, and an insistent alarm clock, I'd have thought you were craaazy.

Personally I love the alarm clocks.

Presumably an alarm when people break into Fort Knox?
