How is that a fight starter? I'm not calling out anyone in particular, but commenting on a general attitude present in certain discussions. Do you feel singled out, maybe? We can talk about it. Well considering you referenced something I said in particular, yes I feel like that is taking a shot at me. You post something like that and it will get a reaction on the forum. Especially if the person you are quoting reads it. You're hardly the only one to post that opinion even on this thread. You're not that special, dude.

Sorry but what does a few thousand Americans matter in what is an epic UK comeback. No one in the UK even knows he cancelled them. Hasnt mattered one bit. That might sound harsh but its time to change the record dude. It sucks that he did it for whatever reason he did and i feel for every single person who was let down but pretending that is in any way a factor to this comeback is slightly naive. First that is a classless comment and down right rude. We Americans love Liam too. All I was saying is he did let down many many fans, many many forum members. I get it he was sick but this isn't the first time he's done this (for whatever reason) to the American market. It sucks. I didn't say anything about it impacting his comeback in the UK. He's thriving there. So don't invent things I didn't say bro. You made the point that he had let American fans down alongside the point about lets see how successful his comeback will be in the long run. To me that looked like you were using it as evidence for a turbulent comeback so far. Im merely pointing out it means fuck all. If he had not done an American tour at all then there would be no different. Yes he has American fans, but as you've already touched upon it matters very little if at all in the grand scheme of things.

Off guard? Andy was plotting a Ride reunion ffs. Get real. Gem didnt, and still dont, know where he is and Chris was auditioning for The Hobbit. You really like ignoring facts. Gem and Andy have both said they were caught off guard. Take it up with them. Ride reunion was planned and was going to take place in the break between Beady Eye's 2nd and 3rd album. That never transpired so there was never an issue. Saying Chris was auditioning for the Hobbit, another rude comment. You are on fire right now. Don't change bro. Gem may have been caught off guard but as you say he didn't really know what day it was after his head injury. I can imagine him feeling a bit put out, certainly I remember his Mrs venting about it on Twitter. As for Andy though I don't think he was caught out by it at all. In his own words, Andy says about the split: โ(Beady Eye) just sort of ran its course really. Liam had been pretty quiet for a while, and then he just let us know that his heart wasnโt really in it anymore.โ The split of the band was on good terms and Andy adds that it did not come as a surprise, โItโs been a long fade, really

People need enemies. There is not other enemies left in music, so Noel has become one to people who liked Liam first. Also it must be frustrating to some to not get that new record. It's like not being invited to the party of the year. This is the biggest load of bullshit fans of any given product trot out against critics. I gave the album a high 8, and proclaimed it Noel's best solo record. I still find a lot of validity in the critiques of those who outright hated it. I'm glad to have won that award, Mr Award giver. Still, most people who convince themselves that Noel is failing with this record are the ones who hate the record the most. Record sales are not a sign of quality anyway, but so called low numbers can be comforting to people who dont like the record. A bit like "It's not me who is wrong, it's Noel. See even HIS die hard fans don't buy the record". I dont have anything to say against people who don't like the record, but against people that thinks It's a flop because they don't like it. You can hate a record and still admit that this record is not failing. So basically, i'm right.

A lot of people are Judging Noelโs album against his debut from 6 years ago. It was a huge hit and a load of interest because it was his first solo material. The same is gonna apply to Liam with the hype and interest. It should do extremely well. All I said was letโs see how his album does 6 years from now when he releases a 3rd album. It probably will sell closer to what CY and Moon did that either Gallagher brother debut. Thadโs just how things go as time goes on. Keep in mind that the sales for CY and Moon are nothing to be ashamed of. Those are great returns. Especially for artists post 40 years old. Thatโs all Iโm saying. Very few, if any artists on their 3rd album post 40 years old are gonna put up huge epic numbers. Things decline over time. All walks of life.

Noel Gallagher had massive chart success with his first solo record simply because he invested a lot in promotion : he had huge videos that were a a short film separated in 3 parts. If i had a gun and Death of you both have 8 millions views on youtube, what a life 2.7. These are massive numbers for a middle age artist. What a Life also got a lot or plays in the radio and even in Gap stores (true story) It was also his the first solo record from a Gallagher and people were still recovering from the split. Beady didn't exactly fill that hole. Chart success is only the result of that. Then you have the sales from the fanbase, and that's exactly what Noel is getting today. He's only trying to reach his fanbase nowadays, because in the end, those are the people who buy tickets, where the money is. Liam is only at step 1. We'll see at step 3, and i hope Liam will be as successful as Noel is today.

A lot of people here are arguing against somewhat elaborate strawmen. Who exactly mocked BDI for their low sales around here? I wonder why one would feel the need to be smug towards a hypothetical. In fact the biggest criticism of BDI on this forum has always been, correctly, that the band were not all that great.
Some users would make you think there's legions of smug, Liam-hating Noel fans on here who ridiculed Beady Eye and declared Liam's career dead, when the majority of people just liked NGHFB more than BDI because NGHFB were better.

Noelโs debut did extremely well. Liamโs debut did really well. There is a natural hype built into debut and a fresh beginning. Letโs see what album 3 does when we get there. Liam still has a long way to go. Loooooong way to go. He only just a week ago let down thousands of USA fans. Broke a lot of hearts. Sure he was sick but it doesnโt play into his previous USA perception is. Fair or unfair. He authored it one way or another. Sorry but what does a few thousand Americans matter in what is an epic UK comeback. No one in the UK even knows he cancelled them. Hasnt mattered one bit. If you want to play it like this...In the Netherlands neither of them really matter. Liam nor Noel.

Many of those posters also said the same thing about Holy Mountain and its still chugging along in week 9.

Record sales were all certain people here cared about three years ago, and today they're preaching the exact opposite. That's why it's being thrown back at them now. Who are these people? Let me see the comments. This forum has always stated record sales as a point of interest. From the days of Oasis to the solo years. Some people are interested in that stuff. Doesn't mean a record is good or bad. It just means a lot of people either bought it or didn't buy it. A lot of people on this forum don't like when low totals are posted. They see it as a slight. They'd rather it not be posted at all. A lot of people say 70,000 records sold in a week is a bust. A lot of people say that it ins't. Nobody cares that those figures are being posted at all, they object to the labelling attached to it when its unfounded.
