He had a lengthy interview and played a couple of songs on the Late Late Show which did no harm for the sales, I bought his album the same day I bought Noel's album and while in the music shop I bought a second copy of Christy's record for my Dad as a stocking filler. It's the type of album people are buying for their family and friends even if they personally are not a fan of him, along with the Late Late appearance I've seen TV ad's for the album along with hearing radio ad's for the album, something I've not seen or heard personally for Noel's new record.

And its a live album featuring his greatest hits making it even more suitable for xmas presents. Plus the whole country seemed to be talking about that Late Late interview and performance (which was very good) the other week.

Indeed. Actually Sgt. Pepper is one of my least favourite Beatles albums but I appreciate being there at the time of release, it must have been quite mind blowing to hear. It must have been a totally different experience hearing it at the time than it was hearing it for the first time years after release when we'd already been exposed to a lot of different music. Personally i'll take Revolver any day over Sgt. Pepper and Pet Sounds but yeah, a different discussion Oh, me too! Revolver is my favourite. Who would have guessed? Revolver, to me, is the perfect combination of experimenting, building new sounds and ideas, while still writing absolutely amazing songs. To think they followed up Rubber Soul (which is also brillant but somewhat traditional in sound) with that album...

Thanks. But I think Noel first solo sold 2.5 million albums world wide. 800,000 plus in the uk. So Noel won the battle I agree, he can look back on a fantastic career. In 2017, the market is very different, much tougher.

Dark times my friends, dark times.

Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and all the Christmas stocking fillers are flying off the shelves. U2 are looking like they are going to miss out on #1 because of them.

I did notice Noel was down at number 10 in Sainsburys earlier but I don't know what they base their chart on.

#6 on today´s update. Liam still at #18.
It´s the Christmas Sales period, yes, but for Noel´s too. In these weeks before Christmas, sales tend to increase from the rest of the year, so it should be higher than usual for a second week sales. His first album was released in October and during Christmas period it sold a lot, increasing every week its sales

It is vital to stick around it seems. People don’t wanna buy. They wanna rent.

U2 really are bombing I'm actually quite shocked by how poorly it's doing. It's selling half of what Noel was doing last week.

All that you can't leave behind and Vertigo are good albums, and they were huge commercial successes for them. Things started to go wrong with No Line in the Horizon
