According to the BuzzJack forum WBTM has sold 57k so far, the #1 spot is safe (Little Mix at #2 have sold around 21k) Holy Mountain is currently at #22, don't think it'll stay there but there are a lot of chances it's gonna peak this week Great numbers! Around 75-85k for first week i´d say. Not much of a drop off from Chasing Yesterday (89k)

Wasn't there debut album from last years X-factor winner Matt Therry or something? Any idea how many records these X-factor winners usually sell? Matt Therry is at #27...He´ll sell around 5k at the end of the week. Pretty low sales

Noel will open with less first week sales than Liam did. Liam was on 78.7k at the same stage as Noel is.
I think Noel will end at around 70k ish

In pure numbers, what would the difference be?

In pure numbers, what would the difference be? Probably not that much. The hardcore fans who appreciate that type of stuff are the ones who were always buying this album anyway I'd imagine. The 'Dead In The Water' Facebook video probably boosted sales purely because people who'd wrote one of the best songwriters of the last 30 years off after hearing one new song and a snippet of some others realised that he's actually pretty good at what he does Liam's comeback was a huge thing and was marketed a lot better, but then again Liam needed a bit more marketing (in a certain sense) than Noel, let's be honest. I mean, Noel's management do seem behind the times, but overall I don't think they've done much wrong here. Hasn't Holy Mountain now spent as long in the charts as any of his solo singles??? EDIT: Holy Mountain has peaked at 69 in the 'official' UK singles charts (not iTunes). It's currently at 79. It has been in the charts for six weeks. That's longer than any other NGHFB single apart from AKA... What A Life!, which was there for a mammoth 20 weeks. (largely due to a 'prolonged' roll-out and use of it in the Euro 2012 TV ad) IABW could have been out sooner. And STMHTF definitely needs to be a single.

Also worth pointing out that in terms of marketing, Sky and BT and the BBC use a hell of a lot of Gallagher stuff (both Liam and Noel) for their football coverage.
Fort Knox is now the default backing music for all of Sky's matchday stuff on a Sunday.

They are two different humans perhaps? Jesus. With similar genetics.... Stop making excuses for Liam. He should own his unreliability. Just a quick comment. I saw Liam in Denver on this tour. Had been sick for 4 days prior. That day, I flew out of Dallas at 5:45am and went straight to the venue at 9:00am to sit outside in the freezing cold so I could be front row. It’s now 27 Nov and I’m still sick/had about a 3 day period that my voice was completely gone. Prob a good idea for him to reschedule one gig to ensure the rest can be done. Not his fault he was sick.

About same sales as DGSS so far then. You know, that band that "crashed and burned".

Neil Claxton @mintroyale · 10m Poor old Noel isn’t selling as well as Liam. I’d guess there’ll be a gloating tweet pretty soon. No surprises there. Liam had a phenomenal year. One Love gig put him back on the radar with the new generation and his first week sales were outstanding for a person that has been around since the 90s. Will be interesting to see what Noel finishes up on. I'm guessing somewhere around 70k. I expect WBTM as a whole will have a long tail, much like Holy Mountain has had. Speaking as someone who can be described as "pro Liam" by this forum's standards, AYW was an easy album to love. It gave me exactly what I'd been longing for from either Gallagher. It wasn't Oasis, but it was of that lineage. WBTM is not necessarily a love-at-first-listen kind of record (though it has been for some, precisely the ones who've had their fill of Oasis-style rock 'n roll.) But if you give it time, it grows on you. I think Liam will win the sales battle for 2017, but I expect both albums to go platinum in time.

Pretty harsh comments. Everyone gets ill once in a while if you're musician or not. He has a history of canceling gigs and has canceled three this year. It's pretty obvious he should take care of his throat better. I've missed work due to sore throats (and the ailments that cause them) four times this year. I'm a computer engineer, and spend less than 10% of my day even speaking out loud. What should I be doing to take care of my throat better?

Where in the world is the Beautiful World proper video? It's in the same place as Liam's Sinead O'Connor-inspired FWIW video.

Nah, considering it was really their secondo album that bombed it would have been seen as good I mean, what did Taylor Swift do? Around 80k?

He was on around 77/78k by the same stage in his first week.
