Mistreating your throat and paying the price doesn't mean you are "unwell" Poor guy has rotten look with getting sick during tours! Pretty harsh comments. Everyone gets ill once in a while if you're musician or not. He has a history of canceling gigs and has canceled three this year. It's pretty obvious he should take care of his throat better.

He could have had a bad cold and it could happen to everyone. I never ever understand and don't want to understand why people always have to find negativity to "bash" Liam and his fans and Noel and his fans.

I would agree. Liam has been on a heavy tour schedule, and we all know from past experience that his voice can't handle a heavy tour load, no matter his lifestyle. Yes, he needs to quit smoking. He also should ingest a lot more green tea or similar smoothing beverages. He should also adjust his singing style and mechanics. I think Liam has put in a lot of hard work into his voice and has made a lot of lifestyle changes. Your voice doesn't get better with age, unless you're working really hard.

He doesn't have to completely kick smoking or drinking to be a good singer.

Why can't Liam? Liam is diagnosed with Laryngitis. So that sort of thing is going to more severely affect him than Noel. Could cause permanent and irreversible damage.

Only squares care about chart positions. You think Tom Waits, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Paul Weller.....care if they are number 1 in the charts?? hahaha. There's some young'uns on here who have been brought up on the fact probably unintentionally that charts matter and its a badge of honour. Its nothing. True artists don't get to number 1 because the majority of the public are clueless. Its not the 1960's. If Noel debuted at number 4. Id take that as a good sign to be honest. Most of these guys are so friggin' rich they don't care about chart positions. They've got large, built-in fan-bases that will lap up whatever they produce. Noel is so rich he could buy Buckingham Palace from the Queen if he wanted it. Then he'd have the whole thing painted bright yellow just to piss everyone off.

Noel wasn't the one tearing through 15-16 songs at ear splitting volume every night for a couple of decades, of course his vocals will be in better health. Doesn't help him sound any better though.

Well he has released it during the last quarter (Xmas period). So he might do ok. Him and Liam should stay in the charts throughout the holiday season. People love to pit them against other so fucking much but I'd feel so good and warm inside if this happens. I care for them individually and I'm happy to see both of them doing something they'd been wanting for a long time. This is my 2017 takeaway with the boys, Liam's in front of huge crowds again and that clearly matters a lot to him, and Noel's getting over his fear and that clearly matters a lot to him. I want both of them to be happy. It's clear both of them have been through super dark times. As a fan I'm so happy listening to both albums. But also more on the short-sell, Liam promoted the FUCK out of this album and it's essentially both a debut and a comeback album. He sang the whole thing live before it was even announced, singles, fucking Greg Kurstin, Manchester bump, near psycho level of Twitter usage. By all accounts Liam deserves to outsell Noel ten times over based on sheer effort.

Holy Mountain seems pretty popular around these parts. It's getting played a lot on Danish radio.

Noel the lazy shit cancelled in NZ sold out for 5k people when his gear was delayed last year. He was in the country and could have played a special solo gig acoustic. I was driving to gig and he cancelled 6 hours before doors opened.
Finished him in NZ. Not heard a single new Noel song on the radio here whereas Wall of Glass and Greedy Soul on the rock radio stations quite a bit.
I like Who Built the Moon a lot. But doubt Noel would tour here now. He wouldn’t sell out a big venue.

Very good chance that it'll be in the charts for another 1-2 weeks. Adding fuel to the fire that it was a better received song than was initially thought. Would have charted much higher without a btoched release strategy. My mates and parents have been referring to it as "his hit" I think you misheard

According to the BuzzJack forum WBTM has sold 57k so far, the #1 spot is safe (Little Mix at #2 have sold around 21k) Holy Mountain is currently at #22, don't think it'll stay there but there are a lot of chances it's gonna peak this week

Wasn't there debut album from last years X-factor winner Matt Therry or something? Any idea how many records these X-factor winners usually sell?
