Six-and-a-half years ago... Not really comparable is it? It was only a tongue in cheek remark. I'm sure if Liam was on the same amounts of sales that it would be scoffed at as about the same as Beady Eye though. You love the hypotheticals and attaching imagined thoughts from your mind as to what posters on here would be saying to these scenarios that haven't happened.

The album is pretty bad for Noel standards ... the hardcore fans will pretend it's great and buy it the first week... this thing will be dead in the water week two... huge drop off ... just not good no matter what some on this forum try to convince themselves .. Cosmo pop or what ever bubblegum name you want to give to it won't sell ... Noel sales the first week because of his name alone.

You don't think it's great. A lot of people do. Some people prefer Liam's stuff. Others prefer Noel's. Most are just glad we've got two really good albums in the space of six weeks. Sound. This is the most commercially friendly record Noel has done solo. Holy Mountain, It's A Beautiful World and STMHTF - all radio friendly sing-along hits.

People are buying less and less music these days. Spotify and Apple Music have become the standard. It was a different situation in 2011... almost 7 years ago. That's a lifetime in the music industry. The numbers are looking good, and if Noel doesn't sell as much as Liam, who cares... Noel will probably make more money out of it eheh

Liam is just singing on it and writing some tunes, Warner is taking a big share + at least 10% for promotion. Noel wins no doubts even with less records sold. As for ticket sales, the tour is still a bit far away. How fast did they sell in the past ? I have no idea. Two Gallagher tours in short period also probably meant people had to choose, given the prices on some dates

Noel is going to be #1. He's going to be #1 with very little drop off from his previous album and he'll probably sell as much as Taylor Swift. Overall, very good numbers and trends.

On a side note: there was never any doubt that Liam would be #1. He had 6 months worth of pre-sales. If he wasn't #1 with that much time for pre-orders, it would have been extremely disappointing. Liam pretty much hit his target.
Noel had considerably less time, 2 months. He's pretty much hit his target, all things considered.
Both Gallaghers have done extremely well.
Numbers are great. Context is even better.

The hardcore Oasis fan base is still huge, and most who buy Liam's album would also buy Noel's and guarantee a decent number one sales figure. Guess the difference this time has been Liam's publicity and choice of singles which could end up with him selling a good 30-40% more than Noel in his first week.

How is he doing in the U.S.? Fox News has declared it the greatest album of all time. Even Trump gave a shout out to Noel today on Twitter after ranting about Tax Cuts and Fake News.

How is he doing in the U.S.? Who knows. I haven’t seen it in any Best Buy’s or targets. Not many other places actually sell physical albums. He still gotta rely on iTunes and streams which is a major hurdle for him it seems.
