I checked ticketmaster every time he had a concert and only Los Angeles and another date were officially sold out 🤷🏻‍♀️Unless they miraculously sold all the tickets left just few hours before the gig, they wrote sold out because they gave tickets away.
Indianapolis even drop the price to 15$. I took pictures of some of the venues from ticketmaster because I was talking about it with a friend of mine, I can assure you they were not sold out and some of them were not close to full (New Orleans, Indianapolis, Nashville), I can send you the pictures if you don’t believe me.
Anyway, saying most of the tour was sold out is wrong. It’s not that it was a bad tour but it wasn’t a sold out tour. That’s all.

Its a combination of playing venues a little too big in markets he isn't a big follow and those dumb ass VIP tickets. Know your audience Noel. We don't care about that shit. We just wanna see a good show, with good songs and not pay $300.  |

I did initially think Radio City was too large for him. Beacon Theater was always a perfect setting to see one of his shows. Always assumed that would be his kind of size in NYC. Highly impressed Radio City sold out and was rocking pretty good. Happy to see that much like Liam selling out Terminal 5. I thought both had shot too big on those venues. I was happy to be wrong. Going by Billboard Boxscore he’s missed out on selling most venues out by a few hundred Ohio was like 300 odd ,he’s done well to say it’s not be the best promoted album ,i think he’s seemed nervous releasing it and has played it down by joy promoting as much incase it flopped.But he’s done well

I’d say...comped tixs or not, DC show was 85-90% full up. It was a great show. Noel seemed to give it his all. Band was most powerful and eclectic as we’ve seen. A good tour. He did a lot of USA dates. Can’t hang em for not selling out all shows.
Still think he’s missing Vancouver/Seattle/Portland/San Fran/Denver/Edmonton/Calgary/Winnipeg markets. Maybe a west coast sling off a Japanese tour later in the cycle? Not too many markets for him to come back to in the East.

Has Noel been doing local media at all? He usually works really hard doing the rounds.
Apart from the two big late night shows and the World Cafe interview/live set (which was great), I've been surprised by the lack of interviews and radio performances.
Perhaps he feels that he no longer wants to work flat out while on your, which after 25 years of touring the world, would be understandable.
I could be wrong, there just seems to have been a lack of "content" from this US tour, which if there were still tickets to sell for the gigs as some have suggested, would surely have helped. And with spreading the word about the new record.

Nah mate, not really. Only one Los Angeles night and an another date were sold out. Giving tickets away to fill the venue doesn’t really mean it’s sold out. New Orleans was half empty. You can see it from videos that most of his dates were not sold out. But he does looks like he’s having fun which is the most important thing. That's fair enough. But there were definitely more than two venues sold out. The pictures have clearly been online - I'll try find a few - of the venues confirming as such. Radio City Toronto The Orpheum (L.A) Philadelphia Most of the rest were 90% full. I'm going off posts earlier in this thread for that estimation, btw. And even so, the bigger venues means this will still be his largest capacity U.S. tour as a solo artist, and like you say he seems to be having fun and the crowd reacting well to it. Same with this ridiculous theory that he's not selling as many tickets in the UK that he has done previously. He's sold exactly the same amount as he has done on his previous tours, with only - I believe - Birmingham, Nottingham, Aberdeen and Newcastle still with any remaining tickets (and if you check, they're the ones up in the gods that nobody will probably want) - and there's still six weeks to go. I fully accept that there hasn't been as much hype for this tour, and Liam's comeback has had an impact in that, but he's still doing very well. It seems people literally heard Holy Mountain once and decided that Liam was suddenly the genius all along.   Thought nobody, ever. |

As he's not thought it worth trying to cultivate an audience in these areas so far, I doubt he's going to start now. |

It's nice that Noel has made a nice friend that he can discourse with intellectually while on tour. He couldn't just take a stroll and discuss Milton or Robespierre with Liam or Bonehead or his old mates; they'd wanna go get drunk and find some strip clubs like the heathens they are. Noel is a refined gentleman now and needs to associate with civilized people. |
