oh wow, so thats gem and chris having been involved with Noel at some point, glad for him, hes a good drummer, its a shame he only got one fairly mediocre tour with oasis.
I expect its only temporary though probably just filling in unless jeremy has decided to go.

Jeremy Stacey gone... and replaced by Chris Sharrock!
Am I dreaming? Tell me I'm not...

Jeremy Stacey gone... and replaced by Chris Sharrock! Am I dreaming? Tell me I'm not... Well I assume Jeremy is gone for the foreseeable future at least as King Crimson start their European tour on September 4th and given Robert Fripp's penchant for a well drilled and rehearsed band I assume he will be in training for this until then. After that what happens is unknown, so it remains a case of wait and see......

I bet it pisses Liam off though. First Jeff Wooten and now Chris.

Good. He's a brilliant drummer, especially in comparison to Jeremy Stacey who I don't think really suited Noel's music.

I bet it pisses Liam off though. First Jeff Wooten and now Chris. Only person who hasn't appeared with Noel is Andy, and Andy and Noel have met with each other over the last few years.

If we could only get Gem back now, full time, I'd be chuffed to buggery.

He's a great drummer. Will improve Noel's shows for those who go so good luck to him.

If we could only get Gem back now, full time, I'd be chuffed to buggery. I'm always content with anyone who can play their instrument well and looks like they're into it. I must say though, last time I saw Noel, Tim was a bit looser and didn't look like a miserable stiff Rutle doll. Well, he still looked like a Rutle, but not as miserable and stiff as he usually does.

Great to see Sharrock drumming with Noel again. Stacey is a good studio drummer, and his work on ITHOTM is a great example of that, but live I've never felt his style really suited Noel's music. Or to put it in another way: he drums the same way on too many of the songs. His style may suit Freaky Teeth for example, but when he bashes away loud and hard on a ballad it takes you a little bit out of it. Sharrock is more dynamic in his drumming IMO, and knows when a song needs a more gentle touch. He adapts pretty well to whatever song he plays on. Can go crazy and drum the hell out of a fast rock song, but also goes for a more mild approach on ballads. The keyword I think, is adapting. Sharrock adapts to the song he's playing. Stacey kinda dominates a song when he plays on it. When I hear Noel perform a song I want to be able to focus on the song, to think to myself "what a nice melody, Noel sounds great here, the band sounds good as well, love this song" etc. When I listen to a live performance by NGHFB with Jeremy on, I notice him a little bit too much and often. Not as a great integrated part of the band performance, but something that doesn't matches the rest of the band and the song they're playing. Something that takes you out of it.

Long time since we've seen those two on the stage together.
Anyone think he may be part of the new album? I don't think Stacey is bad - he's fine on the Ryan Adams albums, so to me, it suggests a failure on the part of Noel and Dave Sardy, with their penchant for mid tempo plods if I'm being brutally honest.

Also (not really a big issue though), in some videos I've watched of live performances Stacey doesn't do that gentle tapping-thing on the cymbals at the end of songs (don't know what it's called), he just stops playing when his part is done. Don't know if he still does that but I find it a little bit annoying

Stacey playing away from HFB was on the cards from January time? These gigs were always happening before noel extended his tour.
Like above says noels played with most of 'oasis' now ..where when he left the press release said band and mgt let him down due to bullying and other stufff but he's seemed to over come that by sticking with them ..what an inspiration to people

I'm not ok with you continuously coming on here and talking down to people, especially when you're the same fucking guy who asks Brian Cannon and Owen Morris about the Mustique demos like a little fanboy on Facebook like most of the people here. Now go take a pic of yourself listening to pretentious music with your headphones on and post it again, you fucking clown. Thanks.

Definitely didn't ask Owen for the mystique demos, as for Brian Cannon potentially. Either way, I don't see how that prohibits me from ribbing on the mooks that post here.
