Good interview.
I am excited that he is challenging himself for once. This could really turn out to be a good project if he doesn't chicken out. The interview says Noel is listed for Coachella, but he's not on the lineup list. I wonder if he'll be a late add?
Also, I really cringe whenever Noel uses the term, "cocksucker." It seriously is a turn off and he really doesn't need to resort to that type of language (though Noel has never been PC, this term feels just as bad as saying faggot).

While this all sounds very very VERY exciting I've got to curb my enthusiasm until this actually is announced and released. Noel has let me down too many times in the past.

Noel sure knows how to hype people up.
This all sounds very exciting, but let's wait and see. Also can't wait for the gig!

This probably means that we won't get any old unreleased songs, such as Don't Stop the Happening or Come On Outside, on this album. Which is a great thing! Noel needs to move on from writing the same songs over and over again.

The bit that got me the most excited is this one:
"We [he and his producer] made a promise to each other not to write any songs, just to come to the studio with nothing."
Is Noel doing a Paul Weller in this album and co-writing with the producer? Will all the songs say "Written by Noel Gallagher and so-and-so?" If that's the case, then it's gotta be someone he trusts, given his reluctance to co-write songs over the years.

Great interview. Still curious who the mystery producer is though. What is especially interesting also though, is that Noel is not just working with the producer in "the usual way", but actually collaborating and co-writing songs too. Will Noel still be credited as a the sole songwriter? A bit like Liam and the guys on BE, where Dave Sitek actually had a heavy input on some songs such as the brass section for Flick of The Finger? Or will he actually share songwriting credits with the producer, a bit like Ellie Goulding did with her producers on her first album? Considering how reluctant Noel was to give AA credit for co-writing some songs of Chasing Yesterday, I'm unsure how Noel will handle this.

Noel needs to move on from writing the same songs over and over again. Although it was great to hear a song like Lock All The Doors on CY, only including new songs can probably make for a more coherent album with a distinctive sound. NGHFB had both really old songs like Stop The Clocks and Record Machine, and songs written during the recording sessions for DOYS and the following tour, CY had more new songs with a new direction as well. IMO Noel is still trying out what his "solo sound" should (or could) be, and the third album may be the first album where he frees himself totally from Oasis and the Oasis-sound. The last albums have often included quite a few songs that had been lying around for quite some time, songs that we had already heard. The new album will according to Noel include 12 completely new songs that no one has ever heard, and that's pretty interesting.

It'll probably be alright as long as we're not having Dave Sardy, or Stargate.

Interesting stuff, plus he's changed the setlist! It'll be fascinating to see where this album goes, genuinely can't wait.

Mystery producer is probably Damon Albarn. Can't see anyone else that would be a producer & a songwriter.
Noel's never had kind words for producers, but he's all over this one, so it's gotta be a counterpart at least.

Damon is too busy to spend such a long time with Noel in the studio. Plus this is being advertised as a HFB record, and if Noel and Damon were co-writing the songs, Damon would get top billing alongside Noel. David Holmes is also a songwriter, by the way.

It's definitely being advertised as the next album Noel is working on but he said in an interview a few months back he doesn't know what it will say on the front of the album yet. I still think Holmes is the most likely collaborator but Damon's definitely in the running.
