The fact that people liked the fact that they played Oasis classics is part of the problem. It seems like a cop-out to play songs that everyone knows and recognizes, especially when it coincides with the commercial failure of BE and that Liam previously swore to never play Oasis songs.

Did he really swear to not play oasis songs? I was always under the assumption that they said they wouldn't do it 'until the time was right' we can argue till the cows come home if that time was the second tour or not but I don't think they ever said they would never play oasis songs. As for playing Noel written songs I had no issue with it. If Noel can change supersonic to an acoustic plodder then Liam can blast out Morning Glory. He was from Oasis and played two oasis songs in a 16-18 song set list. I have no issue at all with that. Most people don't define songs by the 'written by' line in the album sleeve. We might but that average fan sees Oasis or not Oasis. If your going to dip back into the past you might as well go full tilt and give the people what they want in my eyes.

the most boring argument ever...Beady Eye playing oasis songs...
I mean, he s fucking Liam Gallagher, he s Oasis, he can play solo or with a band whatever the fuck he wants

Its a cop out to play songs people like or recognise? I don't know whether you went to watch them on that tour but I can say the Oasis songs sat nicely in the set. While Liam didn't write those songs but I think we can agree that songs like C&A and Rock n Roll Star he contributed a huge part and has a big connection to, are we saying that bands shouldn't play other people's music at all? It seems that a lot of peope think what Beady Eye did given their connection to the Oasis material is much worse than playing someones tune you ahve no connection to. Which I don't really understand. And I can only say from what I have seen at the gigs with my own eye's and what I've watched but it seemed in no way to take away from there own tunes, it enhanced an already decent setlist which is good when you are paying money to see it. It was nice for the fans and nice for them.

I have this feeling that live4eva 's liking of Tay-Tay and your liking of Beady Eye probably have very different reasoning behind them Wrong!! I have a huge crush on Liam. I actually laughed out loud for real.

It sounds like aliens are landing at the end of Don't Brother Me. ...and it's fucking awesome That song had a lot of potential, and it shows with the trippy second half, but the whiny lyrics and generic vocal melody in the first half bring the song down quite a bit. Kind of like Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is; cool instrumentation (even cooler on DBM, albeit) that gets let down by poor lyrics.

In comparison to those of Don't Brother Me, the lyrics of PYMWYMI were written by Robert Frost. Yet DBM, against all odds, really works! Probably fits better into its album than PYMWYMI.

Dear Diary
Why Don't people love don't brother me? The lyrics are hilarious. It's the only song where Liam accuses Noel of weeing his pants.
It's just the most relaxing song ever. It's been my alarm since it came out and I still don't hate it. Eases you gently into a new day. Liam's vocals are very sweet, very nice. Pretty even. The bass is amazing and the outro is so relaxing. It's like a hot bath of cake.
If you don't like this record, you don't like drugs
Yours Sincerely
Carryusall

Beady Eye is for the real people, NGHFB is music for the masses. NGHFB is music by numbers. Funniest thing I've read today. Thanks. People forgot DGSS happened, and half of BE. That album is music by the numbers, and for the strides BE made, those strides are only shown in half the songs. Both Beady Eye and HFB'S can be extremely generic and music by the numbers, and it's really only the personal view of fans or subjectivity of music, which makes fans of either think their artist is different.
