Because...why not? I think that DGSS is a great album. Minus three complete duds (Beatles and Stones, Kill for a Dream, and SOTEOTN), the songs are good, the production is fantastic, and Liam's vocals are the best he's done since BHN. In fact, the production and Liam are what makes the songs much better than they otherwise would be. If DGSS had HC production, it would've been beyond unlistenable.

Fuckin' Steve Lilywhite man! I dont want to hear a 2011 record that is fixated to be a second rate 1965(or even earlier than that) one.

To be honest, I had low expectations for Beady Eye but I really wanted Liam to find success away from Oasis. I think this affected my view of Different Gear, Still Speeding as I was pleasantly surprised and I certainly don't dislike it as much as many others on here. Obviously it's not a classic and has some poor tracks, but to me it has a great summery feel to it and I enjoy the variation of sounds - even if it sounds stuck in the 60's. It feels like a band who were making music because they wanted to, not to make money. Obviously they hoped to keep more fans than they did and wanted to be successful, which was not the case and lead to the decision to change direction for BE.

Different Gear, Still Speeding is bland. And boring. And uninspiring. "Like Oasis on autopilot" was the best description I heard.
Flick Of The Finger is by far the best thing they ever did.
Liam should never have said he was a million percent confident they would be better than Oasis. He should have taken a much more relaxed approach to the project rather than massively overhyping it.

It's good and not as bad as its reputation. This is includes everything Liam Gallagher is responsible for.
In case of DGGS, Liam was really overstating its potential importance. You can feel how mental LG was about the record.

I miss Beady Eye/Liam.
I wonder what would have happened if Noel released his album first and a Beady Eye as second.

I miss Beady Eye/Liam. I wonder what would have happened if Noel released his album first and a Beady Eye as second. probably the same outcome or if anything it wouldve been worse for them as Noels album wouldve already been there to compare it too, DGSS was lacking and couldve been much better, DGSS simply didnt have the song quality that Noels album had, beady eye needed to prove themselves that they could still do it without Noel and they didnt really start to display what they were capable of until BE.

It's a shame Beady Eye came and went so soon, but I'm just happy Ride are back and touring again.

Steve Lillywhite left the production halfway through - sounds like it too.
Considering Lillywhite has produced classic albums of the last 30 years, I'm hedging by bets that he wasn't the issue. Songwriting not nearly good enough, even Lillywhite said so on Twitter - can't polish a turd at the end of the day.

I'm Just Saying & Iz Rite are both really good songs. That would be my thought of the day.

Wish they had stayed at least for one more album with Sitek producing it. BE was such a great effort, a step on the right direction.

Still waiting for Ryan Adams to cover Songbird so Liam will perform it on his solo album tour.

Unfortunately it was classic liam, we're gonna be the biggest of all time and all the claims of being better than oasis but then DGSS was the worst Gallagher related album ever, the roller's a really good song so is four letter word and millionare is good as well but after that the songs are boring and in SOTEON's case terrible which put people right off the band just thinking they ere cocky with nothing to back it up whereas noel had a way more modist and relaxed approach with much better songs so fans immediately went with noel. However BE imo is a very good album and give noel solo album a run for its money but by that stage casual fans weren't gonna buy an album from a band that said they were better than oasis and produced an album like DGSS. I would have loved for them to carry on because the song writing was improving but the production is probabaly one the best for Gallagher records which kind of covers up the songwriting for the most part.

There's days I wish I had found them just last year, after the split, because it is kind of more nerve preserving, loving bands that are already ex-bands. But on the other hand, I would not have wanted to miss the slow unveiling of BE, right parallel with me falling in love with all things Oasis, etc. And the live show, of course! That was a pretty unforgettable experience.
