Second Bite of the Apple is a tune. Fight me. It's a pretty good song. Shouldn't have been a "lead" single, but then again it was on an album that really had no singles....other than shine a light or Iz Rite, and even those are stretches. The lyrics are incredibly weak, but the "Come on, show what you love now' portion, musically, along with the horns on Flick of the finger are probably among the best musical moments for any Gallagher related project since BHN. The orchestration in that section of SBOTA is gorgeous from the horns to the tasty bass licks being used to Liam's vocals, it's near perfect. It would probably have a better reception on here and in general if it either had NOT been a single or if it had been the second or third single...though it's technically the second single if you count Flick of the finger as the first. BE in general would have been better received if: 1. Flick of the Finger hadn't been leaked 2. Iz Rite had been the second single 3. If SBOTA had been the third single. Probably wouldn't sold a boat load of copies, just because of DGSS killing most of their audience, but might have gotten them a #1 album and maybe might have made the difference of 50k albums sold, all guesses from me.

Yeah the leak of FOTF put people's hopes up way too high...guess that's why artists shouldn't release their strongest song as a lead single, because it creates unrealistic expectations. People always want something better the second time around.

I'm glad they made those 2 albums. I really enjoy them.
And Iz Rite features some of my favourite Liam vocals. That chorus!

I must be the only one on here that doesn't like Iz Rite at all.
It reminds me of The Good Rebel and HC, which are not good things...

I was shuffling through Beady Eye yesterday morning and actually really enjoyed it. I think they had a lot of really good stuff but for me the albums just don't really grab me enough to ever want to sit through a whole one from start to finish.
They had at least 10-15 songs that EASILY would have made it onto the final 3 oasis albums.

the more i listen to iz rite the more i dig it. what a tune. to me it's sort of in the same vein as thank you for the good times, and it could have very well appeared on one of the later oasis albums, or at the very least as an oasis b-side.

I really enjoyed that second album + bonus tracks. First album had some highlights as well. Loved seeing them live at the end. A real shame that they split up coz of poor album sales.(I think)

The sales as of 9th March 2015 are:- DGSS- 186,746 (UK only) BE- 71,503 (UK Only) Next round of figures be March or April this year but I wouldn't expect much of a change to be honest. Figures come from Music Week, which has been the industry magazine for decades. I don't know about other territories but BE didn't even make the billboard top 200 in the USA, despite being distributed by Dangerbird Records for Canada/USA, who have broken bands in those territories before.
BE was the most purchased record on independent record store day back in 2013 though, which may have been scant consolation but still an achievement of sorts- Official Charts Company

If you see the chart entries of BE outside the UK (81 Aus, 37 Holland, 10 Japan...) then I don't think it sold over 200 000 worldwide. I think it's the main reason Beady Eye split up. They didn't earn enough to do the kind of tours they were used to.
